Profile
This is just some junk profile I'm throwing together for Sigil, in case I need to cite some random trait about my character the same way Tres does. Blatantly stealing his profile format, by the way.

Name: Amelia “Techy” Wallace
Age: 23
D.O.B May 17
Race: Human
Appearance:

User ImageTechy is used to being looked down upon—she’s 4’ 8”, and looks almost skeletal. She doesn’t have the womanly curves men like to look at, and in fact can be mistaken for a child sometimes. Her form is usually hidden under modest, baggy clothing, which is typically gray or white. It compliments her skintone—almost white, on account of albinism. Her eyes aren’t red, though; that only applies to a few people. Hers are gray, but not a ‘stare into your soul’ gray. Judging by Techy’s face, she looks to be in her late twenties instead of early twenties, and the rest of her skin has many small scars from either combat or sunburn. Her platinum blonde hair is unusually smooth in color, but not in texture.

Her hands are often clasped behind her back, and she keeps her head down when talking to those she finds intimidating (most people). Her high-pitched voice always seems to carry sadness. Techy walks slowly, and her careful movements are equally sluggish; she always seems low on energy.

Personality

Techy’s mind is a web of lost thoughts holding together layers of self-deception. Under usual circumstances, she is very shy and paranoid of the world around her, preferring to stay in a safe, familiar environment. In new situations, there are few things that give her the willpower to overpower her cowardice—curiosity being one, and being told what to do as the other.

Get her comfortable, and Techy is still shy, but at least smiles and is willing to stay with you—perhaps to the point of clinginess. But she won’t hold it against you if you leave. She takes the blame for it, as well as everything else—usually, active malice is required to make her dislike someone. She is submissive to a fault, and will deny requests only if she can wrap the ‘no’ in apologetic weasel words. This stems from an inferiority complex, in which she places the whims of others well above her own desires. Techy is aware of this and is trying to get better, but her weak will allows only slight progress. Anyone who does something nice for her, however slight, is bound to receive a favor to redeem.

Techy doesn’t have much of a goal in life besides “don’t die”. Seriously. The comfort that comes from safety, though, is sometimes enough to dissolve the layer of self-pity and let a confident spark shine through. This state of mind rarely unlocks, but if she knows that you’re dealing with one of her strengths, Techy suddenly gains a hot-headed flair. She will then trump you. Even this isn’t her ‘true self’, though, but rather a coping mechanism to give her a semblance of control of this unsafe life.

If you really want to upset her, attack the one thing she’s sure about: her intelligence. Techy’s IQ is in the high 150s, and she trusts herself on matters of intellect more than anything. She’s highly knowledgeable on multiple fields of science, worth at least a minor on the ‘hard’ sciences. There’s potential to be a scientific genius here, but Techy keeps most of her ideas to herself. They seem ‘stupid’ when she talks to anyone else who seems to be smart. In her spare time, she works on hypotheses and all sorts of scientific endeavors, which keeps her busy and gives her a sense of purpose that doesn't strain her.

Quick, easy sources of comfort are some of Techy’s favorite things. She likes sweets, soft furniture and the occasional glass of wine. She just doesn’t get any sense of pleasure anywhere else—the standard she keeps herself to (but not anyone else) doesn’t allow for vices. She eats very little, has never had sexual relations, and keeps her ego in check. The latter causes problems when she’s trying to raise confidence. Add this to the absence of any sense of achievement, and it’s hard for her to resist small pleasures. She will almost always accept a simple hug.

Skills

Great Intelligence

If there's one thing that Techy has going for her, it's her intelligence. That's a broad concept, but so is the scope of her mind. She's not superhuman, and doesn't think of herself as a genius, but she has an IQ of about 150, putting her in the top 0.04%. She learns extremely quickly, can think more deeply than most people can conceive of, thinks quickly and while juggling several topics, has impressive spatial reasoning, can intuit massive webs of logic, and more. She solves problems by throwing brainpower at them.

Science!

Almost a direct extension of her intellect, Techy knows what’s up in the sciences, particularly the hard sciences (STEM). She can offer advice and advanced knowledge in all sorts of fields. She can put together a robot, draw up an engineering diagram, synthesize complex chemicals, derive proofs of incomprehensible mathematical principles, and more.

Computer Native

Her nickname is not just a term of endearment. It would almost be insulting to refer to her as “talented” with computers; she has spent much of her life obsessively learning and working, making her almost unto a machine-whisperer. If the computer has a problem, she can fix it. A supernatural healer can fix any and all human medical problems short of death, and Techy can do basically the same thing with a computer.

Specialty: Hacker

As a computer genius, Techy actually has a specialty, and that is hacking—messing around with computers by exploiting technicalities in machine logic. This particular and specialized talent of hers goes even beyond the level of her computer savvy. As far as cyberspace and its inhabitants are concerned, Techy is a demigod. If it is at all possible to crack a computer, and Techy wants to get into it, the owner is just…screwed.

Linguistic Talent

Techy does not have a “way with words”, but she has an underlying talent for language. She can decipher texts and pronounce difficult foreign speech.

Physical Abilities

Limited Endurance

Though definitely not physically fit, Techy has stood up to some kinds of physical abuse, and can now do so better than an ordinary human. Her body can now endure extreme blood loss without death, she can mentally and physically stand up to long periods of fasting/starvation, and overall, she is generally much more durable than her size should indicate.

Slight Build

Techy is 4’ 8” and weighs approximately 80 pounds. It comes with its inconveniences, but her tiny size has worked to her advantage in several situations. Socially, this makes her more endearing, like a little sister. Physically, she excels at slipping though small spaces, which is handy in crowds and such.

Quick Reflexes

Dealing with Gaia for most of her life has given Techy hair-trigger reflexes, most of which are keyed to running away, hiding, and general self-defense.

Supernatural Abilities

None

Techy is basically an ordinary human being. You can put her into a dead magic zone and she’ll never figure it out until some other magical creature or meta-human starts blithering about how they can’t shoot fireballs anymore.

Weaknesses

Albinism

Albinism is the body’s inability to produce melanin. Besides making her deathly pale, it means that strong sunlight can give her terrible sunburns, and she often walks around with an umbrella on sunny days. Albinism also interferes with the development of nerve connections in the subject’s eyes, but Techy is lucky in that regard, in that her nearsightedness is only slight and doesn’t typically interfere with her life.

Out of Shape

Techy does not even lift. She doesn't meet basic fitness levels, tires easily, has very weak muscles, etcetera.

Weak-willed

Techy is very easy to frighten and is deferential in social situations. Being an intellectual juggernaut doesn’t translate to strength for the rest of her mind; she has very little willpower. Psychic attacks and other things resistible though sheer willpower are practically guaranteed to work on Techy.

Harmless

Techy cannot throw a good punch, aim a gun competently, or proficiently weild any sort of weapon--with the sole exceptions of a quarterstaff and a shortspear, which she has had some experience with. Even with one of those weapons, she can't really hurt someone unless they're paying no attention to defense at all, due to lack of strength and rusty experience. Techy is, as far as everyone on Gaia should be concerned, totally harmless. The only difficulty in defeating Techy in the all-important art of combat is to keep her from running away, and that's it.

Possessions of Note

Laptop

Techy’s laptop is a cute pink-and-green little thing that you wouldn’t expect to be the battlestation of a computer geek. It runs extremely smoothly despite being an old model—it’s been upgraded—and contains a huge library of code snippets, programs, anti-everything security, and general software awesomeness.
