Everyone was quiet and felt frozen in place. Words in the darkness was spoken slowly and with power of evil.
"Hello all you little fancy toys..."
"My message here is simple..."
The voice paused and cackled manically then spoke once again.
"The rose of my eye; shall die some part time. The rose will fall to me with my power. My duty is to destroy this "legend" you look up to."
Laeril was scared, Kevin quietly moved to Laeril and held her close to him. Laeril relaxed but she felt chills up her spine and she fainted in Kevin's arms.
Before the voice spoke again a knight in golden light armor bashed through the doors and waved his blade in the air to return the light. He spoke aloud strong and proud.
"Begone monsters, the light shall conquer again!"
The lights came on and the dark faded, everyone was shocked, The knight was not just any knight, it was... You guessed it, Shawn Alazar. He stride through the room with his cloak flowing behind him. Everyone moved to the sides as Shawn went up to Zulma, kneeling before her. Zulma still in shock spoke in some what frighten voice.
"Arise sir knight, what news have you brought?"
Shawn stood up and spoke with grief and frustration.
"I did not mean to intrude on your ball here, but I bring some tragic news..."
"What news?" "What happen?" said Zulma in confusion.
Shawn sighed and then replied,
"The Barastls...are dead... Laeril is the last of her family existence."
Shawn paused and continued again holding tears back,
"I was the only one to survive, the darkness invaded us in huge numbers." "Luckily, I was able to do my duty until the king and queen... fell dead." "I had to escape, so I had came here to ensure Laeril would not be dead as well.."
"Let us hope for the best now, thank you for coming, saving us and informing us of this."
Shawn bowed and spoke sternly,
"Of course, but we must take care of Laeril now."
Zulma nodded and glanced over to Kevin and Laeril; noticing Laeril was not awake in Kevin's arms. Kevin carried Laeril up to Zulma and Shawn.
"I'm not sure what happen, she just fainted." said Kevin with worry.
Shawn and Zulma looked at each other and then back at Kevin and Laeril.
Zulma thought quickly and spoke softly," Laeril to a bedroom; Shawn please follow them while I wrap up things here."
Shawn and Kevin nodded their heads in reply and moved up the stairs to the doors and went through them unseen.
Zulma had calmed the guests and asked them to leave in order to have a proper celebration later on. The guests hurried themselves out and when there was no one else left, Zulma used her powers to fix her doors and locked them as she went to help the boys. Shawn and Kevin found a room and had settled down in it. Kevin placed Laeril down on the bed and sat in a chair at the door and saw Zulma standing there a bit out of breath. Shawn bowed as he let Zulma in and shut the door behind her. Kevin placed his hand on Laeril's neck and noticed she was still breathing, he kiss her forehead still worried about her. Zulma sat down near the window of the room and thought, while Shawn sat in the chair at the end of Laeril's bed.Kevin placed his hand on Laeril's forehead and could feel her burning with a fever, his worry worsen and so he spoke in sadness to Zulma,"What is going on with her?"
Zulma looked at Kevin and replied,
"She's sick, she will be for awhile..."
"Why didn't you tell me?!" said Kevin with fury.
Zulma sighed, "Because this is the exact reason, I didn't want you to worry about her."
"And why not?!" yelled Kevin, he paused and spoke quietly with tears filling his eyes," After all... she is not only my duty to protect but she is the one I truly love."
"She is strong Kevin, don't let her appearance fool you." "Besides she would not want you to worry, just be there for her." said Zulma as she looked out the window.
Kevin sighed and looked at Laeril. Shawn nodded his head,"What Zulma says is true, Laeril isn't just a fragile flower, she is our princess and Amethyst Serenitys for a reason." said Shawn.
"I get it, just hope she will be alright." said Kevin lowly.
Zulma fell asleep as Kevin and Shawn watched over them. Shawn's golden armor and blade faded and he turns back to normal. Shawn looked at Kevin and questioned him,"Has she became Amethyst Serenitys yet?"
"She has the charm but she hasn't used it or had to use it yet." said Kevin sleepily.
"Hmm... Well, we should get some rest before dawn breaks upon us with no sleep." said Shawn after yawning. Kevin nodded his head in replied as they both fell asleep where they sat.
The dark night became bright light and Zulma became the first to awake.She shook Shawn and Kevin awake and spoke quietly, "I have some errands to attend to, make yourself comfortable here while I'm gone." Zulma went to the door then turned and said, "Oh!, take care of Laeril as well." Shawn and Kevin replied in unison, "Yes, madam."
After the two replied off went Zulma, closing the door behind her. Shawn got up and left the room to go to the bathroom and freshen himself; while Kevin got into more comfortable clothes and watched Laeril sleep. Laeril slowly opened her eyes and looked to Kevin. Kevin was a bit shocked but took her hand and chatted with her.
"Morning my dear." said Kevin with a slight blush.
"Morning..." mumbled Laeril still ill and sleepy.
"What happen?" said Laeril, taking a moment to cough away from Kevin.
"Well the dark leader was coming after you but you fainted and became sick but Zulma, Shawn and I took care of you." said Kevin. Kevin paused for a moment then said,"But Shawn brought tragic news, I won't tell you if you don't want to hear it, milady." said Kevin sadly. Laeril looked at Kevin and said softly; to avoid hurting her throat, "Tell me when I'm better, if I cannot stand the news I want you to be able to hold me in your arms." Laeril paused to cough again and spoke once more,"I'm still rather sick so please don't worry." Kevin nodded his head and kissed her hand.
"I understand my dear, but I will always worry about you until you're well." said Kevin. "I should be well with you and the others helping me." said Laeril.
Laeril went back to sleep and then Shawn came in regularly dressed and sat down. "How is she doing?" said Shawn.
"She's rather ill still but she said she will get better with our help." said Kevin.
Shawn nodded his head, "She's so strong, she will be alright for sure in our care." "You should go take a shower and relax." said Shawn with a smile.
"I suppose it's your turn to watch her." said Kevin walking toward the door.
"Don't worry, she will get through this." said Shawn reassuring him.
"If you say so." said Kevin closing the door behind him.
Shawn went up to the bookcase in the room and took a book to read and sat back down. Laeril suddenly woke up and sat upright in bed. Shawn looked up and turned his attention to Laeril.
"Are you alright, milady?" said Shawn with worry.
Laeril loked up to see Shawn and replied weakly,"I don't feel too well, where did Kevin go?"
"He's taking a shower at the moment, what do you need?" said Shawn.
Laeril sighed and laid back down. "When he is done I probably need to clean myself to avoid keeping these germs on me." said Laeril.
"That's a good idea, let's hope for best and that Zulma returns." said Shawn.
Zulma came through the door and came in with clean bedding, blankets, and new clothes for Laeril. Shawn looked at Zulma and laughed a bit. "You sure know when to come in." said Shawn with a smile. Zulma looked confused," What do you mean by that?" said Zulma. "We were just talking about you, and suddenly there you are." said Shawn. "Zulma laughed, "Oh haha, I get it now." continued Zulma. Zulma looked to Laeril, "How are you doing?" said Zulma. "I'm feeling a bit dizzy but I'm not too miserable, I would hope when I refresh myself I will be better in a few days." Laeril said softly, coughing at the last few words.
Kevin came out from the bathroom and noticed everyone chatting, he came over and greeted Zulma. "Ah, about time you joined the room, Laeril needs to go use the restroom herself now." said Shawn. "Well I'm sorry, I wasn't told about this until now." mumbled Kevin looking off to the side.
Laeril got up out of the bed and went over to the bathroom. Zulma took the bedding and so forth until the bed was bare and then replaced it all with clean new ones. "There that should do that, I'll be right back after I take care of a few things." said Zulma. The boys nodded in response then Zulma walked up to Kevin and told him to hand Laeril the new clothes then left the room.
Kevin looked down at the clothes and felt awkward holding them. Kevin thought to himself, "Ugh...Why did she have to make me do it..." Kevin turned to Shawn noticing him still reading a book and wondered what it was. "What would you be reading?" said Kevin with curiosity, towards Shawn. Shawn looked up at him and responded, "Eeh, nothing really, just reading the tales of our legend." "I suppose that is rather boring since we already know so much of it." said Kevin with a sigh.
Kevin took the clothes and opened up the bathroom door; noticing off to the side Laeril was still in the shower, and just set the clothes on the counter. He then took her other clothes and started going to the door; Laeril turned off the water and reached for a towel and covered herself. Kevin turned and looked at Laeril with embarrassment across his face as Laeril looked up to see him there and blushed brightly."Umm...What are you doing?" said Laeril awkwardly still blushing.
"U-uuh... I-I didn't come in to peep if you were thinking that..." said Kevin nervously. Laeril laughed,"Then what?" she questioned. Kevin took a deep breath and relaxed then told her clearly. "Zulma told me to give you, your new clothes..." Kevin paused then said shyly,"I didn't expect you to be done when I was going out."
Laeril giggled as Kevin blushed. "Well, I'm rather glad it was just you and not someone else." said Laeril with a smile. Kevin blushed brightly again and then said,"Umm...I'm going to let you change now." "Alright, I won't take too long then." giggled Laeril."Hehehe..." said Kevin as he left the room. Shawn and Zulma looked at Kevin and laughed. Kevin looked up at them and handed the clothes to Zulma as he sat down. "Well well, you little charmer!," said Zulma laughing. Kevin glared at Zulma, "You knew that was going to happen didn't you?" Kevin paused then said,"Or did you purposely planned that out?" said Kevin feeling annoyed. "I guess I did, but was it all that bad?" giggled Zulma again. Kevin smacked his forehead and mumbled to himself, "She did plan it."
Zulma laughed once more and left the room with the dirty clothes and bedding to wash. Shawn chuckled and patted Kevin's back,"Nothing to worry about, at least things are looking better now." said Shawn. Kevin sighed then laughed a bit,"I guess you're right." Laeril came out from the bathroom and sat on the bed. "How are you doing,milady?" said Shawn looking at Laeril. Laeril laid down on the bed and then said,"I'm alright just sleepy." Kevin sat on the bed with Laeril and stroked Laeril's hair gently. Shawn went out and closed the door behind him.
Laeril looked up at Kevin and smiled. Kevin looked back at her and laid down beside her. "Are you really alright?" questioned Kevin. "Yes my dear, I'm doing much better than before." said Laeril with a smile. Laeril hugged Kevin, putting her head on his chest. Kevin hugged her close and kissed her head. Laeril fell back asleep and Kevin stayed keeping her company. Zulma and Shawn walked through the door, Kevin blushed noticing them walk in but motioned them to be quiet.
Zulma whispered quietly, "I see she will be better in no time." Shawn laughed lowly, "Haha, she sure does love you and it shows." Kevin rolled his eyes and whispered,"Of course she does, I make a point to do whatever it takes just for her." Kevin paused looking down at Laeril, 'I can't picture my life without her."
Zulma giggled and created two other bedrooms to the sides of the room with their own bathrooms. "If you need us we will be just a door away." giggled Zulma. Shawn took the room to the left, and made himself comfortable. Zulma took the one to the right and winked as she closed the door behind her. Kevin blushed as he watched Laeril sleep and kissed her head again. Night came along and Kevin fell asleep holding Laeril still with a smile. Zulma came out from her room and giggles quietly noticing Laeril and Kevin both asleep. Zulma carefully walked over to the bed and gently placed a blanket over them. "They are so adorable.", thought Zulma to herself as she went back to her room and went to bed.
Morning had jut peeked as Zulma woke up and took a seat near where Kevin and Laeril laid sleeping. Shawn had gotten up moments later and sat next to Zulma, greeting her with a wave. Kevin woke up and looked at Laeril; he shook her gently and she woke up rubbing her eyes. "Morning princess." said Kevin with a smile. Laeril looked up at him blushing,"Hehe, Morning to you as well." giggled Laeril.
Zulma and Shawn laughed and spoke at the same time,"Morning Love Birds." Kevin and Laeril blushed and replied back,"Morning Zulma and Shawn." as they sat up in bed. Zulma got up and went out the door saying,"Breakfast should be served soon, I will meet you in the dinning hall." Shawn looked at Laeril and Kevin, "Well, I'm not sure about you two but I'm starving, I guess I will meet you there as well." Shawn then went out of the room as Laeril and Kevin got out of bed.
Laeril still blushed brushing her hair, "I certainly slept well.," said Laeril. Kevin smiled and said,"Heh, I did too aside from you having a hold on me." Laeril and Kevin laughed then looked at each other. "I love you so much." said Laeril, hugging Kevin. "I love you too my dear." said Kevin, hugging her back. Laeril giggled and looked at him, Kevin looked back at her and smiled. Kevin kissed Laeril on the lips, Laeril blushed and kissed him back. Both blushed a bit and Laeril smiled shyly. "Hehe, we should go eat." said Laeril. Kevin nodded his head in agreement and they both went off to the dinning hall. Kevin opened the door and let Laeril go through. Zulma motion them to sit near her and Shawn. Laeril sat in the seat to the left of Zulma, while Kevin took the one to the right. The maids came in and the table was decorate with food and drinks.
Laeril, Kevin and Shawn were all amazed by all the delicious meals. Zulma laughed,"Well, what are you waiting for?" "Dig in." Everyone ate their fill and then Zulma wanted to discuss some things. Zulma looked to the boys then at Laeril. "Should we let Laeril know her enemy?" questioned Zulma. The boys nodded their head while Laeril was confused. "Does it have to do with "the darkness", or something like that?" wondered Laeril. Zulma nodded her head and spoke to Laeril of this daredevil. "The man cloaked in black a heartless fool, with emerald eyes in the chaotic void." said Zulma with dramatic effect. "His name is known as Cody Emerald, he controls the onyx and emerald void, though do not fright, for Kevin is not your enemy, he is your knight and love." "May your love be greater than the darkness." finished Zulma, looking at Laeril.
Laeril looked to Kevin and then back to Zulma. "How come I wasn't told this?!?" Laeril yelled. Laeril looked to Kevin and Shawn, "What was it you wanted to tell me?" she said glaring at them. Kevin felt bad and slightly scared, Shawn and Kevin looked at each other and then back to Laeril. "Well?!" said Laeril waiting impatiently. Shawn sighed, "I'm the only one that survived the sinister crusades of darkness..." Shawn paused and then said lowly," Unfortunately, your parents... are dead." finished Shawn looking at Laeril. Tears filled and fell from Laeril's eyes and she ran out of the dinning hall to a garden in the back and sat under a tree.
Kevin looked at Zulma and she nodded her head to let him go after Laeril. Laeril cried holding her legs close to her chest, setting her head down. Kevin came to the garden, noticed Laeril and carefully walked up to her. Laeril continued to not even noticing Kevin there, Kevin kneel down to the side of her. "Umm.. Laeril?" questioned Kevin nervously. Laeril looked up at Kevin with tears falling and spoke softly," What do you want?" Kevin looked down, "I was going to tell you but you were sick so I wanted to save you the pain for later..." Kevin paused and wiped away Laeril's tears,"I know how it hurts but I'm still here with you and they are still in your heart." finished Kevin smiling. Laeril turned and hugged Kevin crying and holding him close. Kevin hugged Laeril back, stroking her hair gently trying to comfort her. Laeril stopped crying and looked up at Kevin. "I'm sorry for how I--" Kevin kissed her before she said another word. Laeril kissed back as they both kissed each other with passion. Kevin slowly moved his lips from hers; but Laeril pulled him back kissing him still, Kevin blushed and continued with her.
Laeril stopped moving her lips from his and blushed looking off to the side. Kevin laughed lightly and blushed still a bit himself. Kevin looked at Laeril,"Feeling better now?" said Kevin smiling, turning her face to his. Laeril blushed brightly, smiling shyly, "Of course I do." Laeril said kissing him gently on the lips. Kevin blushed and Laeril giggled hugging him again. Keving hugged back and smiled, laughing a bit himself. Kevin and Laeril looked at each other; Kevin smiled as Laeril blushed. "Shall we go back,milady?" said Kevin gently. Laeril nodded her head as she carefully got up.
Kevin walked a bit further than Laeril, but Laeril caught up with him, placed her arms around his arm and placed her head on his shoulder as they continued to the dinning hall. The maids opened up the doors to the dinning hall and let the two go through as they closed the doors behind them. Kevin and Laeril took their seats once again and looked to Zulma. Zulma looked to Laeril and asked with curiosity, "Everything alright and clear to you now?" Laeril sighed but nodded her head, "Is there anything else I must know?" spoke Laeril. Zulma thought for awhile and then something came to mind, "Ah yes, just a few, let's have lunch though considering it's afternoon now." said Zulma.
Zulma clapped her hands to catch her maids attention and the table was covered with more food and drinks. Once everything was placed, everyone filled themselves silly and then Zulma explained the rest to Laeril. "Well Laeril, you will not only have to face Cody Emerald but your companions as well." said Zulma. Laeril seemed confused, "My companions?" questioned Laeril as she took a sip of her tea. Zulma nodded her head, "You have five others, Ruby Compassion, Opal Eternity, Jade Justice, Sapphire Strength, and Topaz Trust." Zulma paused to drink her tea and then continued,"These five other ladies, you must defeat or basicially win over in order to make yourself worth of a leader and gain them on your side." finished Zulma as she finished off her tea.
Laeril looked at Zulma with curiosity, "How am I going to do that?" questioned Laeril. Zulma laughed,"Do not worry you won't kill them just duel them." said Zulma to Laeril's question. Laeril sighed,"Sounds like it is easier said than done." "Possibly, just all depends on you and them." said Zulma.
It had became nighttime as everyone finished talking and all walked out to their rooms, said their good nights and went off to bed.
