A Love Song - Azzurro
you step on the road winding round a curb
before long you know your wounds wouldn't hurt
the blood seeps through but blends in the rain
your cringing smile upper lip stiff through the claim
drenched in, soul out you stagger on the pavement
there's not a thing far worse than this deprivement
the radio's love song plays but you don't get a thing
water drowns the words out warning you not to think
your heart so scarred it's deep like a pit hole
fill it up with sand and it will still sink - hollow
but what about the light, that light you seek
see it ahead and you walk to it
when it crashes in all you hear is click
the sound of realization
your hopes, idolization
dashed --
in the flat line your heartbeat speaks
