Gaian works of a Creative mind
Random stuff mostly. Once a week maybe I'll post a short story (no longer 'usually untitled') that just pops into my head, written on the fly. Comments are encouraged. Share thoughts, questions, and maybe even write your own continuances.
Short Story for May 2006, week 2
He knelt holding the broken body of his friend, ally and brother. One he had shared his life with. They had trained together, eaten together, done everything together. Here they were now... one dying in the other's arms. The failing spirit lifted his hand to one last time grip the shoulder of the strongest person he'd ever known.

"You will always be... my brother."

The illusion surrounding them began to waver with a crimson energy as the failing spirit took his last breath, dying in his brother's arms. Tears of blood did drip from his many wounds as he lay the cooling corpse upon the ground, and turned to face the enemy who had taken his life.

"You... YOU... YOU KILLED HIM!" That crimson flow, the violent energy disrupting the illusion, swirled around him as he stood firm. His once blue eyes shined gold for a moment, turning a deep red as blood filled the lens. The darts stuck in him shook and fell from his flesh, wounds healing themselves as his body steamed in the crisp air. "I'LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU FOR THAT!"

He leapt at the enemy, charging as hard as he could. At the last second the image disappeared and he skidded to a stop. The attack came from the side this time, and he spun, yelling. The sheer force of will in his yell shattered the daggers in midair. His enemy froze... leaving an opening to be struck clean by a punch to the face. There was a ferocious crack of wood as the enemy's mask cracked.

"You killed him... now I'LL KILL YOU!" He lunged again, the illusion gone. His enemy stood, and the mask crumbled to dust. His fist pulsed with energy as it flew through the air, but for one instant he saw through his blind rage, and saw the face of his enemy.

His enemy was not some stranger, his enemy was his own friend. Her face was resolved, she expected to die here today. He stopped himself, his rage sputtered and died from that single instant of sight. His eyes turned blue again and filled with tears.

"Why..."

Even though he had hesitated, she did not. A flash of light glinting on steel, a spray of crimson mist... and down he fell to never rise again.

"May you find peace within your shattered soul..."

Hmm, the story is good but the writing style is in def need of work.

I like it, you just need to work on finer details and better telling of the story.

>> no killing cause i dont wanna dieee!

Hmmm...Its very descriptive, I love the details. It is random, but yet so grim. I love it.

Now that's a sick story. Hopefully the others have some sort of connection; I'd love to see what the plot's really like. biggrin

Good descriptions, excellent potrayal of that guy's rage. Perhaps, not as ambiguous next time around, but that's hardly a viable negative comment.

Keep it up, man. I can't wait to see what you write next.

Muaha. That's my kind of story.

Its a bit confusing, though. I had to read it like five times to figure out what was going on. xP Be then again, I'm sick.
