Er.....people have been nagging at me to up up some tutorials to help them so...yeah....
Reminder : these examples below are drawn in my style. It would be better for people if useing this tutorial to adapt their own style by using mine as just guidelins. Theres no right or wrong in art, so one can do whatever they want. Just no stealing these, alright? (they're pretty crappy anyways - -;; )
Lesson 1; The eyes
Okay...er....I'm just going to explain the rough sketch of anime/manga eyes.
You start of with a curve, and another curve at the bottom. Then draw an oval inbetween. Thats just the basic sketch of an eye.
(ex)
They're are other types, basically following the same steps as the basic one above
(ex)
The top ones are with pupils that curve in. The slant and size varies.... arrow attention,: THE MYTH THAT SMALL SLANTED EYES ARE ONLIY USE FOR EYE VILLIANS IN MANG ARE NOT TRUE!!! ><;;; domokun one can use any eye style/type one any character, protagonist or antagonist. The last ones on the right hand side are just what the eye would look like side ways. The middle row of eyes shows the basic type, with round pupils. The last row show misscallenius eyes. The left hand one is more used in chibi and the right onbe is just a different style.
Okay, so concludes our first lesson...
Lesson 2 : Head angels and views
Pretty much like the title, I'm goona show you angles... (* I do not you use the steps shown myself*) Once a person gets good enough, they won't need the circle, line techniques, but if you're just starting, it would be a smart idea to follow.
Okay, fist draw a cirlce. It doesn;t have to be perfect. Then, depending on the angle, draw a line through it, staright if if the person is looking at you directly, or curved if the person is looking at something else. I don;t really know how to explain side-ways view, but the picture should.
(ex)
The first picture shows frontal view. The next one shows sideways. The last one shows totally 90 degrees turn.
Now, that the guide lines are set, you draw the chin, and face shape. The chin should be pointed but rounded at the end..(confusing, yes) The more slanted the chin, the older looking. In between the two eyes should be the eyes. The eyes should be divided by the view line.
(ex)
arrow arrow Caution!!:: The circle guideline does NOT represent the forhead!!! The forhead should vary depending on the view, but it should not be flat or too big. The best way is to draw a light circle starting where the lower eye lids are.
okay...lesson 2 completed
Lesson 3: Body and proportions
Yeah yeah, your gonna see some boobage. Deal with it.
okay....if you know me, you know I nag about correct proportions...like...alot...so.....I'm gonna show you somewhat the correct proportion. Oh, proportions means one thing's size in relation to another.
First, lets work our way dowsn. The neck should be connected to the ear in most sideways views. There are exceptions. In frontal view, the neck should be position in the middle, depending on which frontal angle the heand is. Be sure not to make the neck too long. short is okay though. The shoulders should be as braod as the head, but not much wider. In children, the shoulders are slighty less broader than the head. The arms exstend from the shoulders to the middle of the thigh. a little longer is alright but it shouldn't be too much shorter. The width of the arms should be the same lenght as the distance from the nose to the chin. In females, theres boobage....I'm not a big fan of big boobies...but for general adience, I exaggerated it a bit then I would have normally done. draw two circles close together, but not overlapping unless in side ways views. it should start a little below the collar bone and depending on how big, around the middle of the upper arm. The waist should start from the end of the boobies to the hips. Its not straight. The curves in an 's' shape. outward everso slightly from the boobs and curves inward in the middle. arrow ATTENTION;; Many artists love to make the waist very very thin. That is wrong and make a person look starved. The hips are harder to draw cause it has to be precise. Too wide, then the person looks disproportioned. Too narrow will make it look anorecstic. It should be abput the same lenght as the boobs, but becomes narrow for the legs. The legs are fairly easy..I 'll get more into it later.
(ex) frontal view
(ex) side ways view
(ex) Back side view
The male body is basicallyt the same, except the shoulders are a bit broader and the hips are basically flat. The male body is shaped like a triangle.
(ex)rough male sketch
phew...the largest and naggiest section is done ^^
Lesson 4: arms and legs
er, I explained the arms alittle in the proportions section..so, hers just a more detailed picture.
(ex)
for begininners, I suggest you try the circle joints technique. the arms curev SLIGHTLY inward from every joint, as you can see. I drew the hand a little too big.
while I'm at it, why not throw the hand in? I don;t have a hand drawing technique yet...truthfully...I'm still working on hands as well......for others, I sayuse trial and error.....but for now, heres an example of a hand. The middle finder should be the longest, the index next, then the pionter finger, and the pinky and the thumb is relativly the same size. The palm should be the same length as the fingers, if not, bigger.
(ex)
The legs are easier than arms and hand, but still require focus and patience.
theres really no way to explain it....the calf is skinnier than the thigh......and the out line should be to elongated ovals connected to eachother.
(ex)
arrow Attention!!! :Many artist tends to draw the legs very long and skinny. That is unrealistic and un proportional.
done
Lesson 5 : Misscallenius items in art
Wings
I decided to put a mini lesson on wings. remeber, I'm no pro with a tablet and drew all examples directly on the computer because I was lazy...
The angel wings have feathers all over and are layered...with each feather on top of another....sadly, I was too lazy to define each, so i just made a really crappy example...sorry...^^;;
(ex)
However, robotic wings are much different and look more like fairy wings. They are also layered...but not with feathers
(ex)
Demon wings require a lot less detail, thus making it easier
(ex)
okay, finally, this tutorial is done
May ask why i didn;t put any clothe or hair lessons in.... well....#1, I was too lazy to and #2, hair and clothe designs are easy enough to do, and each varies, so I would let the people have the freedom of decideing how to do it themselves
now, take everything I've taught together, put effort into it, (unlike me mrgreen ) and color it. You should have an picture thats acceptable ^^

If you have any questions or want to go deeper and learn my other techniques, feel free to pm me or leave a comment. But please don't leave a comment like, I like your art, pm me. No, if you want to see/know me or my art styles, YOU PM ME. I'm not taking time out on my life to Pm someone I don't know.
Oh, if any of you actually used my tutorial aqnd drew a decent picture from it, me show it to me, I love to collect art....and don;t worry, of course I 'll credited it to you ^^ Same goes if you want me to display your art
ONCE AGAIN, NO ART THEFT PLEASE!!!!!!
