Don't tell me I'm the same person cause I've tried so hard to change
Life has lead me down a path that made me feel deranged.

You look me in the eye, searching for the girl you knew
Even though my eyes are green, you tell me I seem blue.

I've seen wars and I've seen fights,
Men who kill in the midst of plight.

The devil dances in my heart,
Honestly, would that tear you apart?

To think of me from brighter days,
Just to find my life is in a haze.

You yearn for someone who died long ago,
It's hard to say, but you should know,

I've felt love, but I've seen hate
He was a pawn, yet got checkmate.

I fell to my knees, begging for mercy
He saw through me, the memories are blurry.

I've seen love, but I felt hate
Crashed down like waves, my ship couldn't escape.

Please don't think I'm still the same,
