today was beautiful although ordinary. i'm exhausted.
i cleaned out the last of my apartment, put my key in the drawer, and locked myself out for ever, i guess.
(there is in fact a way to break back in though.)
then i took the bus to home depot. i wanted to buy some pots.
first i went to ikea and almost bought a huge shark. now i kind of want it. on the nights when i'm alone it would be nice to have a massive cold-blooded creature to replace my ex. on the other nights i can wrestle with my current boyfriend who today for example woke me up with "SO THAT'S WHY" and tried to shove me off the bed that i was supposedly hogging. we both have twin sized beds. we are still young.
then i went to home depot. most of the pots were smashed and they did not have mint. i wanted to grow some mint. home depot was in disarray.
so i went to walmart which indeed had pots and i bought five 4" pots and seven tiny 1" pots for less than $4 altogether.
while walking down a block of larchwood i had never walked before, i saw someone had set up a little free library in their front garden and then someone had set out greek yogurt tubs full of mint and lemon balm cuttings and also some exotic violet seed pods all labeled "FREE." i took three sprigs of mint and a sprig of lemon balm.
university city/west philadelphia is a very sweet and idealistic neighborhood. i almost feel at home.
i played with the neighbor's cat who i see almost every day. i call her Mops although my favorite is Bucket, who i have not seen in a while. my boyfriend came over for a bit. i'm very scared of falling in love with him. i am not sure if i can be content with him, although i care about him very much.
but it was an exquisite day.
