Ryou watched and stood by as the chatter went on. When Akane directed her attention to Ryou with a life threatening question, her menacing stare watching down on Ryou, he began nodding swiftly. "Yeah! Of course!" Ryou falsely agreed with Akane, being one of the very few people that referred to Akane as "Captain" rather than Aki-kun. He noticed a child
drop in, literally, and watched her opening introduction into the room, applauding and clapping his hands afterwards. "How does she do that!?" Ryou said, referring to the young girl 'magically appearing out of thin air'. He acted like he had no clue how she got in and was quite amazed with the poorly demonstrated magic trick. He saw the little girl make her way to Akane and tug on her towel. Ryou began blushing madly, thinking it would rather be very tragic or very lucky for Akane's towel to be tugged off. A major nose bleed struck him as he turned away covering the spray of blood with one hand, closing his eyes shut. "Must conserve innocent thoughts!" He said to himself.

Lasting Effect: The energy and spiritual pressure emitting from Ryou and his zanpakuto take on a physical form, replacing his entire left arm with the raw energy. This energy is a stronger material then diamond and can create his hand into the form of a blade at will and back. Given the advantage, the disadvantage is that this energy can not be manipulated at any other part of the body unless Shikai 1 reaches a higher release.

Instant Effect: Ryou's hair converts to a black color with a little white remaining and his eyes change to a golden yellow color. His entire body is engulfed in red energy that takes on the appearance of flames and quickly extinguishes to reveal the new appearance of Ryou Ishima.

Lasting Effect: As the spiritual pressure and the capacity of energy held within Ryou increases, so does the power of the arm. The appearance of the Energy is now red. The energy is so unstable and intense that it creates a layer of rock hard skin over Ryou's materialized arm (Imagine Lava cooling down into hard lava rocks). With this new gain of incredible, yet unstable power, Ryou can deliver devastating energy, that can now be exerted from his arm, to his enemies. This raw power can travel a distance of 50m when focused and exerted from the palm. The power of this energy is so destructive that it has an impact force of 2000N and can explode on impact. The downfall of this power is that its so unstable that it even causes the user to go into an uncontrollable rage (Anger or pain usually triggering it). Also, due to the hardened state of the arm, it can no longer transform into a bladed arm.
