Well, so much for the wasting away on stuff. I got to have a full "productive" *shudder* day. All thanks to my littler sister. I don't know where Tabatha gets off telling me she feels like she's wasting time, when she has summer school first thing in the morning, which is like a hill to overcome itself, followed by work. She's certainly not wasting her time, so this reprimand of a blog space if for YOU! domokun
Well, originally I planned to head to Border's to meet up with Will and Jennifer, they're Staff members for Anime Vegas Con '06. If you remember, I went to see Jennifer's art exhibit a month ago. Will, I'm just calling him Will now, we used to call him Tony, why I honestly don't know or don't remember, but I've known his real name is Will now, so I'm keeping it that way so I don't have so many Tony's or Toni's to worry about. sweatdrop
Anyway, the meet was for a sort of final judgment on a design for a magazine idea for Las Vegas Otaku (LVO), and I'm hoping and guessing it went well. At the last minute, my plans got turned upside down because of Kelly's graduation ceremony. Now that I look at it, it must have been a long ordeal, because they came home at 11, and left around 5. Since they would be off doing their thing, my Dad took Tio Miguel and Tia Silvia to some ticket vendor here in Las Vegas to go buy tickets to some show, I didn't even get to find out what they went to see, but they're not back yet. They had left a little later than my parents. Thinking about the time frame, it kinda bummed me because the meet for the 'zine was at 2, it most likely would have been over in like an hour, so I could have hitched a bit of a ride or bussed it home on time.
So, because of everyone being out and about with their shows and ceremonies, that left me and Sophia by myself. It seemed like I was in for a big project, because according to the schedule Kelly laid down for me, I'd be putting her to bed. They always overreact when it comes to how I'll be able to handle her, they worry too much, sometimes everything can't be put down on a piece of paper, especially when it comes to babies, you'd think I wouldn't have to tell them that. xp
When we finally had the house to ourselves, it wasn't so big of a deal. It was the same old routine, I called Josh and Sonja on the phone and talked to them while she played around and I occasionally intervened or played with her. Wow, now that I think about it, I'm playing that generic babysitter role of that girl who always sits on the phone with her friend and says crap like, "OMG no. way. Becky said what? Oh, that is so like her." Well, I can't say I talk like that, but I do hog the phone, maybe I'm clingy and need someone to talk to. Family can be only so tolerable sometimes. People need to come over and visit.
We had some dinner, leftover meatloaf with macaroni and cheese. This was about the time I called up Sonja and she told me her deal with the DMV and this weird creepy old guy who should fall into a lemon juice pool covered in third degree burns. The food was good, and Sophia seemed to love it, we split up some strawberries for dessert, then went back to the living room and watched this documentary stuff about Tokyo and its way of life.
The phone started dying so I hung up and decided then was a good as time as any for a bath, I was hoping Sophia had pooped by then so that way she didn't do it in the bath or right after I got her all clean and stuff. She hadn't though, and it got me a bit worried, but it was too late, and she hopped right in. The whole ordeal was so cute, I hadn't bathed her in a long time, it was funny. She almost knew the whole routine by heart and when I got the water running she grabbed a cup, filled it with water, and started rinsing herself with it. The only hard part was because one of the faucets in my parents' bathtub broke up, so now you have to twist what's left of the knob with a wrench. The funnies part was seeing her slide down the length of the bathtub because the soap made the bottom so slippery, she thought it was hilarious to see me struggle to hold her up.
She got dried off, diaper changed, and dressed, then we sat down to have a bit more to eat, apparently it's good to feed her a little while before she goes to bed, helps her sleep more if she's on a full tummy so she's not crying for milk. We had some oatmeal cereal, she was gobbling down that, but when she started playing that was enough. She didn't look too sleepy so I sat her down to play a little more, by then this was like past 10. But all of a sudden she got fussy and started crying, and when she does that for no reason it's a safe bet she's cranky because she's sleepy.
I fixed her a bottle, and helped her go up the stairs, staying behind her. It's cute to see her trail the mountain of steps, she does it pretty fast. The bottle settled her in, so I tucked her in and played her mobile a little. Oh, my aunt and uncle just got home, looking pretty tired. mrgreen
After that I called Sonja again so we could watch Bo-Bo-Bo. I was freaking out a little because Sophia started fussing again, but I think the bottle did the trick, and she stopped after a while. The 'rents came home, everything A-OK. Now everyone's asleep and I'm enjoying the peace. Hopefully tomorrow I can try to make it to Josh's, I was planning on seeing him at work, maybe he'll finally make me a sandwich. cheese_whine
