I is tired to say the least. I keep yawning while I'm typing this up. I think it's because I went to bed at like 3 and actually woke up at a reasonable hour, little after 10. No applause is necessary, thank you. That, and I wore myself out, exorcising. Er, I mean exercising. Yes, that's the one.
I got this call from Jason, which was the real reason I woke up so "early". I'd forgotten I'd RSVP'ed on Meetup to think about heading to his girlfriend Veronica's Project Harajuku Meetup. I'm glad I did, poor Jason, lost at the sea that is Estrogen Ocean. So I can remember this myself, Harajuku is an area of Shibuya in Tokyo that is known for its wildly dressed teenagers, who enjoy fashions like Gothic Lolita and other boutique areas that many find strange. The main point of the meet is to share the love of J-Rock and Lolita and similar fashions, dress up accordingly, and take photos in places. More often than not though, I'm guessing Jason is the only male there. It could be why he called me to check if I was going. xd
So of course, also since I wanted to hang out, I did my best to get there. It didn't seem like the cards were in my favor. When I got downstairs my aunt and uncle were cooking "brunch". So, of course I wouldn't be able to skip out, so I asked my dad beforehand if someone could drive me after the meal was over and everything was cleared away. He said I could get a ride. So I chowed down and threw everything in the dishwasher. The food was good, it was some chicken marinated in something. Oh, that reminds me of the Carne Borracho. That stuff is so awesome, maybe I'll write about it later. Dad asked Kelly to drive me, so we were off, with like the meetup already being about a half an hour underway. She used the backstreets on Paradise though, so we made it a little before 2. On the way she was telling me about the graduation ceremony, it sounded like my Dad got a little tipsy or something. confused
The meet was in the food court, but I couldn't spot anyone I recognized or looked off. I know that's hard to say, but distinguishing tourists from lolitas is really not as difficult as it sounds. I couldn't find anyone, so I went around the Grand Canal Shoppes a few times, looking for places I would figure you would wanna take photos in front of. Still couldn't find them, so I headed back to the food court, and found them walking by a group of people watching a Gondola singer. We headed back to the group of girls who had showed up, so there was about 6 of us total. There wasn't much to do except look in the "shoppes". There was this place that had all these nice crafts and masks, the shops are really sensitive about photos with anything. I wanted to buy this leather journal they had, but it was like $89! Jason said for that kind of cost it must have been made out of children. In Soviet Russia, children made out of books!
It was basically browsing and snapping shots in front of stuff that looked nice. We did find a nice art gallery where someone did pieces of Charlie Brown paintings, mostly Snoopy, with these strange circles made out of some type of resin the lady told us, I can't remember because I was mad about not being able to get a chair in time, and the colored circles looked like yummy colored fruit roll-ups. There was also these paintings that were common designs from David And Goliath, you've probably seen their stuff before, some of it's funny, but all the artwork there was terribly expensive, I don't think it was worth the cost when you could find the same stuff on a t-shirt and get more enjoyment out of it for like $20-$25. We stopped and "got our fortune told" by this big old plastic wizard, I actually enjoy the results, I'll post them in a bit.
When it was time to go, I walked Jason and Veronica to their car, then decided to start walking, I was too impatient to wait for the bus. I headed on into the Fashion Show Mall, and went to the food court because I don't wanna spend a lot of money since I'm supposed to be saving for Anime Vegas Con '06, so I was hoping to just find somewhere to buy a drink. I came across a Hot Dog On A Stick in the food court though, and my cravings for corn dogs yesterday from drinking all the limeaid hadn't been settled, so I grabbed two and a large limeaid and sat down. Then I walked to the Wynn's CAT bus stop and sat on the fake grass until the bus came.
I got off at the Sahara stop and decided on an impulse to check the arcade, maybe see if they had any DDR to play. Tabatha might think this is cool, I spotted Chris Yaeger working at the roller coaster booth, but he wouldn't answer me when I called out to him. They didn't have DDR, but they had ITG2, which is like the next best thing, I wanted to improve my score.
They had the option of using a USB port to save your statistics, so I pulled out my little mp3/USB hyrbid, but I don't know what I did wrong, it didn't save anything, but maybe it's for the best, my scores weren't very good because I discovered I could do that on my last round of play. I really need to get back into practice. I played like 4 games, and at the end of it thought I was going to die. The good thing I love about my haircut is that sweat can be whisked away fast and doesn't like to hide in my hair, the bastards.
I limped to that Huge Gift Shop across the street and bought a gallon of water. Then I sat and waited for the bus. The driver was really nice today, a good change of pace. The water was finished before I got off too. I changed and showered, and now I'm wasting away again on the ol' interweb.
I wonder if Sonja would sell her DDR stuff. I could try to get her broken pad fixed. Now for my fortune telling results: whee
