Piccolo (!!) - My main character who doesn't exist in the shounen universe! Akiko is a sweet, innocent, and very short first year student at the music academy. She is all the way from Japan! She has long, straight black hair with bangs (think like typical japanese school girl haircut tbh), and her default outfit is a short-sleeved black dress and black flats. She's very loud and finicky, much like her instrument. Her closest friends are Oboe, Trumpet, and Trombone (the first year squad).
Flute - Rosie is a second year student at the music academy. She is French-Canadian, and has platinum blonde hair and green eyes. Her default outfit is a silvery-grey dress with those converse sneaker things. She also wears a necklace with the treble clef on it. She acts confident most of the time (perhaps a little pretentious), and has a very "I want to do it all" personality. She is a good singer and enjoys choir. Her closest friends are Clarinet and Saxophone.
Clarinet - Chris is a third year student. He is Korean(-American). He has typical short asian boy hair, and is quite skinny and slouches a lot. He's not super tall, only slightly taller than Rosie. His default outfit is a blue (?) sweater and black pants. He's very responsible/caring, and also rather quiet, but can speak up/take action if he really needs to. He is easily annoyed by Jack/Saxophone because he is loud, but tolerates him because they sit close together. His closest friends are Flute and Bassoon.
Oboe - Olivia is a first year student. She is Ukrainian. She has short blonde hair, which she has dyed with blue highlights, and blue eyes. Her default outfit is blue jeans, and a white and blue hoodie. She takes everything very seriously, and doesn't smile often. She gets along very well with Chris, since he shares a similar serious demeanour. She is in the first year squad (as mentioned above).
Saxophone - Jack is a second year student. He primarily identifies as being Canadian (from the Prairies!!!!). He has messy, dark blonde hair and brown eyes. His default outfit is a green cardigan + jeans + brown shoes. He often forgets that he's wearing a neck strap. He's also not great at remembering things in general... which is why he loves jazz because he can just improvise!!! He's quite loud/outgoing/has a radio host-like personality. He refers to himself and Chris as "Reed Buddies". He's close friends with the Jazz squad (trumpet, trombone, piano, bass, percussion), and he's also friends with flute. He likes to think he and Chris are close friends.
Bassoon - Bella/Isabella is a fourth year student. Her background is Filipino (?). She has straight black hair, brown eyes, and a darker complexion (at least more than anyone else in this section, lol). Her default outfit is a white, long-sleeved turtleneck top, and brown pants. Like her instruments shounen counterpart, she is very much the mom friend and cares for everyone and tries to treat everyone with kindness. She's a bit clumsy, but that's just part of her charm! She is close friends with Horn, Tuba, and Clarinet.
Winds main arcs/stories:
-Oboe's entire arc is her closed off/cold personality gradually morphing into a more welcoming personality. She grows super close with the first year squad - they become really close friend and she learns to open up about things. In the last episode/chapter she admits that she will really miss the other three during the summer, something she would've never admitted to eight months ago. ~character development~
-The whole Rosie-Chris-Jack love triangle is a whole arc in itself. I think it opens with "A New Style" or whatever I called that chapter, when Rosie notices how good Jack is at performing jazz music (a style she doesn't like and is not familiar with). Chris eventually realizes that he likes Rosie. Blah blah. s**t happens. High school drama ensues. Flute/Clarinet perform a duet at the final showcase.
-Recently developed, we also have the Rosie-takes-on-too-much arc, in which she tries to handle her quintet, being a vocalist in the rock band (and taking vocal lessons), flute trio, her own private lessons, and all the theory/history classes (whew). She ends up being late to rehearsal a bunch of times, Olivia gets really pissed, they try to replace her with flute 2 and picc (arthur/akiko) but that doesn't go well. Anyways she drops modern band and then asks Soprano to take her place.
