Author's Note:~The 1st Treasure~Treasure Hunt Special Pt.2
As the three wandered the jungle they could not find the place where the gem was hidden. Sakuya stopped the group for the eighteenth time.
Sakuya: "You guys this is a waste! We could be relaxing on the Wingbeat instead of looking for this dumb treasure!" she exclaimed in an exsasperated tone. She fell to the ground wincing, her feet ached, sweat dripped on her forehead and she wiped it off with a handkerchief.
Kyoko: She too stopped taking a few deep breaths. "The cool aired rooms of the ship do sound nice right about now" she said as she looked up to the canopy of trees that blocked their vision of the sky. "It must be late already"
Yukina: She stood there her hands on her hips looking at the two with disappointment. "You two are pathetic and you call yourselves treasure hunters. And mind you this isn't hot. You know on my home world it isn't hot unless you are on fire" she said trying to get the girls to get up on their feet.
Sakuya: Her voice dropped to a low mumble. "How can you not be on fire if you live in hell?" she said her voice was barely audible.
Yukina: "What was that?!" she yelled while turning sharply to look at the blonde.
Kyoko: "Stop it you two you're worse than Riku and Sora" she said but it was too late the two had gotten into a full blown argument as always and a sigh of frustration escaped the young red head's cherry colored lips. She grumbled some and walked off into the unkown territory of the jungle leaving the shouts and yells behind.
Soon Kyoko was unaware of where she was and she had no idea how to even go back and retrace her steps. She sat on a near by rock and sighed. She remembered Wakka telling her that if she ever got lost that she would be found if she stayed put, but Kyoko knew this wouldn't work in a lush green jungle where a person could be anywhere it was diffrent than getting lost at the island marketplace or in the small wood areas of the main island back home.
As the area got darker she got lost in thought her mind continued to wander about memories of being home. One memory played in her mind. It was one when they had played in the forest area and she had gotten lost. Kyoko was about 5 at the time.
{Flashback} Destiny Island
Sora: "Come on you guys lets play Jungle expedition!" He was 6
Tidus: "Yeah!" he was 5 and at that age Tidus did and went along with what the older boys said. He was very influenced.
Selphie: "I don't wanna play! That's scary! Come on Kyoko!" she said with a small lisp she too was about 5
Kyoko: A very small girl with hair that was somewhat almost to her butt and was tied loosely by a purple ribbon. Her white t-shirt seemed to be a little big on her and her skirt was held to her by a belt. She was barefoot as always and she looked around before turning to Selphie. She was about to leave when a silver haired 7 year old spoke up.
Riku: "Yeah leave it to Selphie to be chicken, Kyoko you're not chicken are ya?" he asked as Selphie began to stomp away.
Kyoko: She looked at him and a blush came to her face even back then she seemed to have a strong attraction to him. "I'm not chicken!" piped her squeaky mouse like voice. He had always influenced her when she wanted to back out because she was scared. She never wondered back then if it was a bad thing or not.
Wakka: "Alrite den!" He too was 7 this time without his blitzball in hand. "We gonna be on teams okay? Tidus an me will be on one an you three will be on de udda kay?" he said as he took a step near Tidus.
Sora: He placed his hands into fists! "Alright! The first to make it to the waterfall caverns is the winner!"
And so they went into the woods to reach the caverns making up adventure ideas as they went along. On time Kyoko was "kidnapped" by a hungry jungle cat and the two were to be her rescuers. Another time she was supposed to have fallen ill to a jungle disease and they were to find the cure and bring it to her. Things seemed to be going fine until Sora and Riku were arguing on whose turn it was to be the jungle expedition leader. Whenever the two would argue it would get Kyoko upset and so just like before she wandered off into the woods and got lost. She sat still in one place crying for hours until. She heard a voice calling her.
Certain that it was Riku she got up and called out until he found her. She ran into his arms still crying and he held her for a moment securely.
Riku: "Hey don't cry, shhh. When ever you get lost I'll find you I promise" he said softly to try and soothe her.
And the memory faded.
She sat in the jungle once more and this time almost in complete darkness. The memory was bitter sweet. She remembered how once that had always been so. If she needed them they would be there. When ever she would be in distress Sora or Riku would be her Prince charming and come to save her. That was how it had been until Kairi came along........
{Flashback} Destiny Island
Kyoko this time stood in the woods once more now at the age of 8, she couldn't believe she had gotten lost again it was the same game and the same route but this time she was on a different team. She was on a team with Tidus and Wakka. Both Sora and Riku had wanted Kairi on their team so she went with the others and somehow lost them. Now she stood with short short hair and a blue and yellow bow in her hair. She wore a shirt that fit her but wore Sora's hand me down pants which were to big and hung on her undeveloped hips even with a belt holding them.
She started to panic and ended up stopping after wandering a bit.
She looked up to the sky and wondered how come no one had found her just yet, she knew that the woods were big but Sora or Riku would have had to show up eventually. This time though they never came.......no one did.
She had to make her way out of the woods on her own and when she finally got home she saw them all playing in the backyard to Sora's house having fun. The sight brought tears to her eyes.
That was the last time she hung out with any of them...........
She sat once more in the jungle fresh tears running down her cheeks. She sat alone in the cold dark knowing that she no longer had a prince charming to save her or find her. They had found a new princess to care for. A strange rustling sound alerted her she got up and looked about her heart blades in hand. And then a hooded figure appeared.
