Unprompted #6 - Page 92: houses
Write about your first home: your childhood home or your first apartment or house of your own.

My childhood home was in different province. It was a corner townhouse in a small complex. The area was pretty kid friendly. We had a park-like grassy area in the centre of the complex, with a small wooden play house. I remember we used to climb on top of it and eat snacks when we were younger. Our backyard changed a lot over the years. They cut down one of the trees because it started to die. I think my mother planted mint and lavender many many years ago, not sure what happened. We also had a consistent ant problem in the complex. Overall pretty average place.

The house itself was mid-size, I think. We had a lot of books that nobody read once I got older, and a lot of random decor in the house because my parents liked it I guess. Everything was kind of old. I think they were hand-me downs from another house we used to live in, one that I don't remember anything about.

My bedroom was crammed full of furniture and stuff. There wasn't much space to move around. I had 3 bookshelves. A lot of stuffed animals. All 3 of my webkinz lived in my room. The neopets lived outside. I also had tons of notebooks and stuff since I liked to write. The bedroom door was really crappy. Made a really loud noise if it was closed and then someone tried to open it. Still freaks me out thinking about it to this day tbh. I also had a radio that was basically never used, though I have memories of playing ear training CDs for when I still RCM exams.

I was pretty imaginative as a kid and I named all the rooms in my house such that it was a huge city for my toys to explore. My bedroom was Sunnyville (of course), where the ceiling light was the 'Sun'. There was a hotel hosted on a short bookshelf (Mt. Whitening hotel) and a ski mountain which was the dresser (Mt. Whitening). The guest room was Blankville. That's where, ironically, the Sunnyville Gazette (newspaper) and Sonny (magazine) was produced. The neoschool was in the den. Downstairs was called Downville, but my stuffed animals never ventured there much. Anyways, this is getting long.
