So my friends from Illinois came to visit me the other day. They were here from monday until yesterday afternoon. It was short, but enjoyable regardless. So what exactly did we do the entire time they were here? Well, this trip my friend Jacob, and Alex came down to see me. Along with Jacob's girlfriend, and her friend mallory.
They got here early monday morning. In which case we visited and they dragged about. They had been driving the entire night after all. We did end up going to books a million to look at some books, to kill time before they could check into their hotel room at 2 o'clock.
But it didn't go by fast enough. So we headed back to my house, so they could sleep for two hours. I mostly sat here on Gaia during that time. Well 2 o'clock came around and we headed over to the hotel.
They got settled in. Somewhere along the way we swam, my girlfriend came over. As she was in school the entire day and hadn't seen my friends yet. That evening we went to the fair that was in town. Though, that was really uneventful as no one actually rode any rides.
Before the fair we hung out in the hotel room, and played some games. After the fair, we went back to Julia's house before a visit to wal-mart. Julia was dropped off, and then we went to the hotel room. Everyone showered, and there was much joking around like usual. Though we did go to bed at around midnightish.
The next morning I woke up at like six. Because it was rather cold in the hotel room and I had a very thin blanket. I ended up crawling onto the floor where my friend alex was sleeping to try and steal his blanket. I ended up laying down there until around 9 o'clock when everyone else got up.
They dressed and then we gorged ourself with hotel breakfast. After that we went to Burgees falls, a cool park with waterfalls. We hiked it all morning and left in the afternoon. We were all drenched in waterfall mist and our own sweat when we left. It was rather hot out and the trail was about a mile long up and down hills.
After that we headed back to the hotel to swim and cool off. We swam for about an hour and a half, and then attempted to visit a store in town that was closed. Or at least the owner posted a sign that they'd be back in five minutes.
We waited half an hour.
We at dinner at Julia's house. Then we swam a bit, some tension started building through out the night. Mostly due to stress of trying to make things awesome. So the nights mood was a rollercoaster. But we headed to hidden hallow and walked around there. Until Julia's parents called her at 9'oclock to come home. They were mad because she had a test the next day. So didn't care if my friends being there wouldn't happen again for months. Her parents are super strict with grades, to the point where they thing one homework grade reflects her entire grade for the year.
If she's getting an A in the class, and she gets a C on some homework. That automatically means she's doing bad and has a C in class. Which isn't good, because she'll fail in life and not get a good job. They like to yell a lot and tell her she doesn't make them happy. Or at least Ed does, though Gail seems pretty mean about grades too.
Loosen up the chains alright Ed and Gail? Sheesh.
Though we were able to go see her about half an hour later. Her parents suddenly acted like nothing happened and resumed their "Tv land" parents act.
After all that we went back to the hotel room. Watched TV, went to sleep and then woke up the next day. The day they were leaving. We ate breakfast and then checked out of the hotel around noon.
After that we visited that store we missed the other day. Then they dropped me back here and hit the road. I don't know if they made it alright or not though. They haven't called. But I guess I'd be getting a call if something happened. rofl
