Karley groaned as the ship rocked and she was stirred out of her sleep. She felt Kloud’s arms gently wrapped around her and smiled slightly. She rubbed her eyes and lifted her head up, watching as he slept peacefully. She pushed up on her elbows and yawned loudly. She started hearing a rumbling, and the ship rocked even more.

“What’s going on…” She mumbled as she yawned and listened in, there were several loud bangs, and then there were giant splashes, and several screams. She heard a rumbling and the boat rocked even more. She sat up straight, that sound was unmistakable. It was cannon fire; Karley looked to Kloud and shook him hard until he woke up. He blinked at her and yawned, rubbing his eyes.

“Hn? What is it…” He asked her as she pulled him up to his feet,

“There’s something happening outside.” Kloud blinked again and stretched his arms over his head, yawning quietly as she walked to the window, he opened the curtain and gasped out loud,

“Oh my god!” He said in disbelief, Karley rushed up beside him and looked out the window, gaping at what she saw. A giant pirate ship was sailing in stride with them. The men hung out the windows, whistling as they saw Kloud and Karley at the window.

“Oy, lassies, why don’t you two come aboard and have some fun with us!” A few of the men yelled and laughed. Kloud slammed the window and drew the blinds, he looked to Karley and pushed her back toward the bed,

“You stay here, okay?”

“Where are you going?” She grabbed his arm, “You shouldn’t go…they look dangerous…” He smiled at her and removed her arm, patting her on the head,

“No…I have to do my duty, to protect you. I’m not going to have this time ruined because of some stupid pirates.” He leaned in and kissed her on the head, then tied his hair up and rushed from the room,

“Kloud!” Karley called after him, against her better judgment, she ran after him.

“Return fire!!” Kloud bellowed as a cannon sailed over their heads and crashed into the water, showering them in water. His crew returned fire and a blasted the ship with a few well-placed shots. The crew was hurriedly reloading the cannons as Karley came onto the upper deck. The pirates were whooping and taunting the men of the ship as they reloaded and fired their cannons. Kloud was rushing around the deck, shouting orders to his men continuously. Karley was actually awed by how fast the crew responded to his orders, and managed to launch a vicious attack against the pirates. But it wasn’t enough, Karley heard the pirate captain yell to his crew,

“Prepare to board!!! No woman be making a fool out of us!” The pirates yelled as they threw hooked ropes onto the rails of the ship. The crew tried their hardest to deflect the hooks, but every one they cut, 10 more were in their place. The pirates came aboard and screams rang out through the crew and the passengers. Karley hid behind a few barrels as Kloud yelled for the people to get to the escape ships. He punched and kicked several of the pirates out of the way until he was overcome by several of them all at once. He fought hard, but one of the pirates knocked him across the face with the butt of his gun, knocking him out. One of the men picked Kloud up.

“This lass be a heavy one!”

“Git her on the ship.” The captain replied as a plank was set over from the pirate ship as one of the pirates carried Kloud over.

“Oh no…” Karley thought in her head, “I’ve got to warn someone.” She hurried down a flight of stairs and ran down the hall, from the signs, she managed to reach the control room. She picked up a radio receiver and spoke into it, “Hello…mayday! This is the ship that belongs to the Kingdom of the Imperial Phoenix, pirates are attacking our ship, we need help the rescue the escapees. Please, help us!” She gasped as she was grabbed from behind and picked up off the ground; the radio was ripped from her hands.

“Gotcha!” One of the pirates said as he tossed her over his shoulder,

“Ahh!! Let me go!!!” She pounded on his back and tried to kick him as hard as she could as he took her back down the hall and up the stairs to the pirate ship. She kicked him more, but he didn’t even budge,

“Ye, be a feisty one! The men will like you I’m sure!” He laughed. The more Karley fought, the angrier she became that she couldn’t get away. The man walked across the plank to the pirate ship and kicked the plank away, looking to his men, “Let us be off!” The men all cheered as they sailed away, leaving the wreck of the ship behind.
