There she hung in time's end,
A chaos of light below.
Reaching from the last of earth,
I held her hand
Unwilling to let her go.
Looking up from the weathering heights,
Her bright eyes said to me,
"The hurt will end and sorrow die,
The willow's leaves will fall.
My love safe in those I cherish.
In their triumphs I will smile,
From their laughter I will live.
You hold me with your love,
but I am sorry that I cannot stay.
It is my duty to save what I love,
And it is humanity.
In seeing it finished, I may rest.
Like the sparrow from the sea,
Never returning to its nest
Love alive in you, set me free."
She eased her grasp from mine,
As I saw her smile at the world now saved.
A chaos of light below.
Reaching from the last of earth,
I held her hand
Unwilling to let her go.
Looking up from the weathering heights,
Her bright eyes said to me,
"The hurt will end and sorrow die,
The willow's leaves will fall.
My love safe in those I cherish.
In their triumphs I will smile,
From their laughter I will live.
You hold me with your love,
but I am sorry that I cannot stay.
It is my duty to save what I love,
And it is humanity.
In seeing it finished, I may rest.
Like the sparrow from the sea,
Never returning to its nest
Love alive in you, set me free."
She eased her grasp from mine,
As I saw her smile at the world now saved.
--I want to spend my life helping others. It do not care what happens to me as long as I can see those that I care about happy. I will help them succeed and see to it that I protect them from what evils arise. In that, I will be in ease.
