MY POEMS AND SHORT STORIES!
InuYasha and Kagome
Kagome opened her eyes and sighed, her body feeling so cold. He wasn’t here, it was all a dream. But, she knew, the kiss, the party, all of it, it all happened. This was just the sad aftermath of it. Shortly after the party, the Inu-Gami was fighting a large demon, and it sent InuYasha somewhere with a power no one knew it had. The gang looked for him for months, but no one could find him. It was like he just disappeared. Since then, Kagome had been living in the Feudal Era, refusing to leave until they found InuYasha. It was killing her not to know where he was. What if he was dead? It was so terrible how they chased every rumor but found nothing. Kagome didn’t know how longer she could take this…

Everyday was like her heart was being ripped out again and again. When she woke up, he wasn’t there. When she went to eat, he wasn’t there. When she went to the well, to visit home, he wasn’t there to stop her. But, it hurt her most was when she went to Goshinbuko and he wasn’t sitting in its branches, as he always did. It killed her to look into the branches and see no one there, sulking or looking down at her and smiling.

" InuYasha…" Kagome hugged herself and watched as the sun taunted her from outside of Kaede’s hut. Everyone was out and about, Sango and Miroku getting ready for the arrival of their first child, Shippo and Kirara helping them, and Kaede praying at the temple. No one seemed to have time for her anymore…. Just as well, Kagome wanted to be alone anyways… She got up and stretched, deciding to wear the hairo InuYasha had someone make for her. It was just like his, but green instead of red. He gave it to her a week after the party. " To protect her better", he said. Kagome let out a small laugh at that memory before getting dressed. When she was done, she slipped on some Chinese sandals and left the hut. The wind blew her hair around her and she sighed, walking on. She was dying inside, she knew that. All she thought of was InuYasha, how he loved her, protected her, saved her so many times. She stopped and looked up, watching Sango and Miroku coming her way.

Kagome smiled sadly and watched as Sango wobbled and Miroku stood by her, protecting her and helping her. Sango would laugh and say that she was like a walking, talking basket of water, and Miroku would say, " That’s not water, that’s my boy!"

Sango laughed. " It might be a girl, you know." She giggled.

Miroku shrugged and smirked. " You never know…" He said, laughing with her as she wobbled again. That’s when the couple noticed Kagome, and saw that she was tearing up. Miroku frowned and helped Sango sit on a bench. He walked over to Kagome, after being told by Sango to hurry and console the girl already, and smiled at her. " Want to tell me what’s wrong, Lady Kagome?"

Kagome shook her head, tears falling. " Nothing… I just… I wish that I didn’t lose InuYasha… Not before we got to marry or have children… I miss him…" She sobbed, Miroku hugging her.

" We all do, Lady Kagome. We all do. But, none of us know the pain you must be going through…" He said, making Kagome feel both better and worse.

She pulled away and turned, walking from him to Goshinbuko, her crying spot nowadays. Miroku just watched her with sadness and pity in his eyes, before going back to Sango, who was in near tears.

Kagome stopped at the tree, touching the bark and letting tears fall. She kept saying his name over and over, sobbing and falling onto her knees to the ground. She didn’t know how long she could take this. Being without InuYasha was killing her. For weeks after he was taken from her, she would wake up in a cold sweat, panting and crying. She could always see him in her dreams, slipping away from her. She could see him, looking like she had betrayed him, like it was all her fault. Kagome could never tell him, tell him she loved him, that she was sorry that it was her fault, if she wasn’t so vulnerable and constantly needed protection, he still would be here. If she had just gotten out of the way, he would be in this tree, telling her so…

" InuYasha… I’m so sorry… Come back to me… I didn’t mean for this to happen…" she sobbed, shivering from the cold. That’s when she felt it. Familiar warmth surrounding her, making her stop shivering.

Kagome looked and saw him. InuYasha. He was kneeling next to her, smiling. He looked still beat up, but seemed normal. " Hey, my tenchi… Miss me?"Kagome looked into his eyes, shock filling her very core. She reached out and touched his face, tears falling down her eyes. " Its you… Its really you… Your alive…" She trembled as she hugged him, jumping on him and crying. She hugged him close to her, feeling his warmth and sobbing on his shoulder.

InuYasha laughed. " Sorry if I scared you…"

Kagome got up and gave him an angry face, sniffling. She sat on her knees and shivered. " Where have you been? I’ve been worried sick about you!" She whimpered.

InuYasha wiped one of her tears off her cheek. " Healing. And, it took me a while to get back home… Sorry to worry you, Koi…" Kagome just hugged him, holding him to her as if she never wanted to let go. " It doesn’t matter… As long as you’re here now…" InuYasha lifted Kagome’s chin up, kissing her with a long lost passion between them, more than making up for the missing time. Just then, the rest of the Inu-Gami entered the clearing, originally looking for Kagome, when they saw InuYasha. " INUYASHA!" Came their voices. InuYasha laughed as everyone crowded him and his mate, all so happy he was back. But, that whole time, he held onto Kagome, refusing to let her slip away from him again. And, Kagome was doing the same…
