Ok. Get ready for a very big entry. I have alot to say today, and am wasting valuable sleeping time to do it. I'm kidding, I actually had a very adventurous day. Let's start with this morning.
I headed over to my friend Kalen's house, to try out that new Def Jam Vendetta game, which while it's a bunch of rappers, it's a very cool game. They took out a lot of the wrestling options. We were going to leave to go hit up Port-Of-Subs, when Katrina (Kalen's gf) came to the house explaining she had locked herself out in a rush to meet us.
We scanned the entire house, trying to find a way to "break in", and the only solution was to make a reach for the doorknob by reaching through the doggy door. It took us 15 minutes, but by nearly breaking my arm trying to position my self right, I managaed to fiddle the lock enough to get the door open.
I had the be home by 6, to go get ready to have my little Birthday Dinner with my bro, my dad, and his girlfriend, Kelly. I wanted to go to church today for some reason, I've been intersted in it lately. The Priest's reading didn't make much sense to me, and the only thing I can remember is someone coming up to the podium after service, preaching to us the importance of voting as a Catholic religion. He was saying there were certain things we should vote against, like Gay Marriage and Abortions, which I actually approve of. I figure if two people of the same sex love each other enough, they deserve to marry just as much as anyone else, and the way I see it, if you're killed as a fetus, and you believe in reincarnation, you can always return to the Earth to a family that can care for you. I was kind of not wanting to go to church after reading the negative comments on the pamphlet.
Anyways, on to my dinner. At first, I didn't want my dad's girlfriend coming along. To be honest, I'm still not completely accepting my dad dating and all that yet. But I guess, whatever makes him happy. I've only seen her about 3 times, and she's been really cool. When we got to Chili's she gave me a hug and handed me a bag and a card, wishing me a Happy Birthday. That made me rethink my decision, plus she gave me a cool red bag, so she can't be that bad, although I have to worry since she likes my dad. xp
The dinner was real nice, and at the beginning, I decided to open the bag to see what she got me, to hell with waiting. It was a mini little book, no bigger than a floppy disk, called, "Yes You Can!". It's a big with a bunch of motivational phrases said by famous actors, athletes, singers, and the like. Now this was a great gift, because I love quotes I can think back and reflect on, and I always write them down in this little book I have of my own, and I am a very happy person, who loves these kind of gifts, that really mean something. Let's just say my dad has my blessing, because I seriously believe my dad wants to marry this lady.
Now, for the little problem. My dad wanted the Chili's guys to sing for me, and now that I look back on it, I don't know why I was so against it. But I was being really negative, maybe it was the book that changed my mind. At first, I thought I had gotten out of the song, when I excused myself, and in the bathroom I heard singing outside. Unfortunately, it had been for someone else. Then it hit me, this whole time my dad had been real down about me being such a b***h about the song. I realized that this wasn't about me, this was about my dad. His son was about to reach the age of adulthood, and he was so proud, he just wanted to celebrate and be happy for me. I found out he hadn't asked anyone to sing, so I whispered to the waitress my request. They came back a few minutes later singing. I actually loved every moment of it, it was good to not only feel happy, but feel happy because my dad was. They sang the following song:
"I don't know what I've been told, Someone here is getting old, Good news is this sundae's free, Bad news is we sing off-key, Sound off, Happy, Sound off, Birthday, Sound off, Happy Birthday, To You!"
All in all, I had a great time. I've also decided to use the book Kelly got me to leave you a special quote after every entry from now on, so if you're feeling down, maybe it might pick you up a bit.
Oh, and about Akamaru. I found an Akamaru plushie available on Ebay, and I will do anything to have it. So, I need everyone's prayers to help me get it. Believe me, if I truly want anything for my Birthday, it is that.
I now leave you with the first quote in the book:
"The purpose of life is a life of purpose." - Robert Byrne
