-note: this realization is about misunderstood characters. I'm just using some well known ones.
For example-
Satoshi Hiwatari/Hikari (DNAngel). He is hated by many people because of his alter ego Krad and his ambitions to capture Dark. If these people just looked past that they'd see that he is trying his best to be one of the good guys.
And also-
Kikyo/Kikyou (Inuyasha). She is hated because she often tries to get rid of Kagome and had a previous relationship with Inuyasha. But if they were to see beyond that they'd see that she is only trying to live out her life. And many people know the pain of a broken relationship, just like Kikyo. She is trying to protect herself from getting hurt again, but she also is deeply hurt when she sees her beloved with another girl, so she does what she thinks is best. And its not her fault that people keep resurrecting her against her will and using her for evil purposes.
So anyways I hope that this has enlightened someone out there. If not then I just spent my time typing all of this out for nothing. sweatdrop
