Love

Love, a thing I thought I'd never know
Until one day I saw it grow
From liking someone as a friend
To crushing deepness without end
Lost confused and always wary
I thought that love was something scary
To be feared and taken hard
And then I saw what was a shard
Of love meant truly for the bond
A love not forced or made or conned
Created truly for the two
A happiness for both of you
I was relieved but still afraid
And so alone was how I stayed
Until I met someone I’d known
But feelings never once been shown
That I liked him or he liked me
Love truly is a mystery
I wasn’t sure and still I’m scared
Of the feelings we both shared
Afraid of what it may become
Afraid of what it is to some
Afraid to say it loud and clear
I live to be with you my dear
And so I run from loving word
I ran so fast my feelings blurred
Until love became an unknown thing
A thing I lost and now I bring
This tale to light and ask for peace
And now I hope these feelings cease
Of worry heartache and concern
I hope that through this we all learn
What it means to fall in love
A thing you can not make or shove
Or bottle up and save and sell
Or force upon the living shell
Afraid, I am of love its true
I shout this out to all of you
It was once a silly thing
A joyous game, a word a fling
Something used to pass the time
A way to use up your last dime
But now I see its something more
Between two people who adore
The other like the closest friend
With a love that will not end
So now I see but still I cry
For what is love I wonder why
What’s the point I ask and plead
What’s the point and what’s the need
I’m lost to love, I feel ashamed
But how am I the one who’s blamed
I’m just a kid who’s lost and scared
Afraid of feelings most have shared
With someone close and someone dear
To me, love is my greatest fear

This was based on a tue story but ovbiuoulsy dramatized quite a bit...
