I was dead at the time...
RP for the vale continued

Chuckling, Ali shakes her head.
"You two.... i swear...." And letting it trail off she puts her hands on her hips in an almost parental attitude. "Alright then, let's explore. I can feign still looking for Kyo, and you two i'm sure have created excuses. We all in? " Ali looks around to each of them.

The others agreed to continue their adventuring, and continued deeper into the new wing of the Vale. After passing what seemed like the millionth unmarked door, the group was suddenly started with one opening only ten feet away from them.

Of all the people that could have cought them in a place they weren't sure they were supposed to be, Jennine Claret-Sinai was the very last person they would have wanted. When they had first started working here, each of them had been warned to stay away from her, and stay on her good side (if there were such a thing) while doing so. Ali was mentally shooting herself for thinking they'd get away from this unscaythed. (sp?)

Noticing the employees, Jennine turned to them, throwing one hand on her hip. " And what do YOU think you're doing here? " She asked, in that know it all attitude that she's been known to ooze.

The group looked at each other, not willing to take the first step, but after what seemed too long, Ali stepped forward a little.
" We were attempting to get ourselves aquainted with the new wing. It wouldn't do to be sent here and get lost when it were important." Mentally sighing, thinking her idea had been a legitimate enough ruse, Alinedra stepped back into place.

Jennine frowned, and changed position. She was carrying a medium sized box and it was obviously uncomfortable to stand there and look intimidating while holding it. " I can't think why the likes of you would ever need to come to these cooridor's. Its nothing to do with your jobs. Now if you will, get back to work and keep your noses out of things it doesn't belong in." Turning on her heels, she walked off the direction the party had been traveling. Almost as an afterthought however, she turned and yelled back. " I'm sure Edwin would love to hear how you spend his time. " And with that she walked off, turning a corner out of sight.

Dragging the group back the way they had come, Ali wiped the sweat from her forehead. "Phew, That's exactly the lady i do NOT want to run into again. If we're going to stir up trouble, can we do it elsewhere? Away from the evil lady?" Alinedra giggled. She was actually kind of fond of the woman, in her own manner. She was mostly misunderstood, Ali thought, and because of that acted the way she did. Or perhaps there were deep rooted emotional problems that had yet to be worked out. Either way, Ali didn't think Jennine was all too bad.

Suddenly, Ali remembered something. "Sodashi! I completely forgot you had your own specimen now! How is it? How's the research coming along, and do you know when it'll grow? Tell me everything!" Ali smiled. She could live vicariously through the others when it came to specimens, till it was time to get one of her own.

Alinedra gave Sodashi a queer sort of look, but took what she told her at face value. She thought the reply had come after too long of a pause, but who was she to delve into it? Perhaps she was frustrated with something and didn't want reminded of it. Either way, it was exciting. Ali was fond of fruit plants, and hoped that Soda's turned out to be one she equally liked.

" It sounds exciting... in the fact that you have one... I suppose the growing probably isn't the most exciting part of your day but all things have to start somewhere." Ali tried to sound happy. Growing seeds weren't exactly the thrill of the day, but it was something, and it would be come an even bigger more exciting something.

" So, what shall we do now? Any ideas?" Peering around at the others and throwing a stray hair out of her face.

Saturday, December 16. pg 263 (main thread again)

Alinedra knew what she had been called into the common area for. All the employees knew. Well, knew that something was up and a big secret was about to be unveiled. Ali was excited, and her quick smile and eagerness to pay attention to every move Researcher Uennie made proved it. Since working here, Ali hadn't quite been part of anything special, not as an observer of the event, and it was thrilling to be part of it. Also, she had no idea there were so many employees here at the Vale, and the crowd brought an even larger electricity.

When Uennie quieted everyone and revealed what the secret was, Ali's breath cought in her throat. Alinedra grew up being aware she was pretty, but in a common sort of way. What walked out from behind the door was beautiful in a supernatural way, and it was almost more than she could handle. As the new observer Shouko was introduced, Uennie got under way with the rest of the meeting.

Most of it was pretty routine, but one thing that shocked her was Kyocho's promotion. It was apparent the powers that be were indeed paying attention. Ali smiled, And here all this time, i thought we were hardly being payed attention to. She was happy for him. He had seemed sort of down and alone when she met up with him last, and this gave him a chance to be around more people. And on an upside, his skin was radiant now due to the constant sauna of the greenhouse. He'd have any female he wanted more than likely, and knowing he'd probably want none, Ali snickered at what could be a most fascinating show of dramatics to gain his heart.

At the conclusion, Alinedra made her way to Kyocho and gave him a huge teddy bear hug. " Congradulations! Now you get to order me around." Ali said with a chuckle.

Mon Jan 08, PRP thread

Ali had been hard at work all morning. Edwin was out for the day in meetings, so the greenhouse was all hers. He of course had left a laundry list of things to do, but Alinedra didn't mind, knowing she'd be doing them regardless.

Throwing on the music, she got to work immediately. Her job in the biodome had gotten to be quite routine. Not in a boring way, each plant they dealt with was unique in it's own right. Ali enjoyed the physical labor, the smell of fresh potting soil.... but she was beginning to get bored with the same day in and day out routine of it. She thought about asking Edwin to throw her in the greenhouses every once in a while, but she thought it might offend him, as it would appear Ali didnt' like it here.

So, to the beat of random techno, Alinedra sighed, and got back to replanting the random perenials she was in charge of today.

Alinedra came forward after everyone had moved away from the table. Grabbing the identification badge gingerly, she smiled to herself. Things were going exactly the way she wanted. Her classes were going great, and it was time she put some of that knowledge to a true test.

Her only hope was to find someone to take her on board, show her the ropes. She wondered who it would be, and as she approached Jennine, she prayed it was someone she could get along with.

" Excuse me, Jennine? I think i was supposed to report to you..." Ali shuffled her foot a moment until she remembered the warning. Bringing herself to a straight pose, she smiled slightly as the woman turned to her.

" Aaah yes. I have just the teacher for you. I havn't approached her about it yet, but i'm sure she's up to the job. For now, why don't you make your want to the biodome. Edwin tells me you've done great work there. I'll send her along when I find her." Turning to go out of the room, the woman turned back. " By the way.... your shoe is untied."

Ali took one more look at her new badge, and took off to the toward the Biodome, humming quietly to herself.

Bouncing happily into the bio-dome, Ali stopped short, noticing someone there that wasn't Edwin. Lately it had just been herself and Edwin even working in the dome, with so many people off busy in the research labs. She'd liked it that way sometimes, having the quiet, or occassional bad music playing in the background.

"Hey, I didn't expect to see you here. What's up?" Ali said, hoping she wasn't being summoned for skut work in some research wing. She'd been called to clean up a spill the other day, due to a researcher's clumsiness.

Alinedra smiled back at the woman. " I'm always here to work on something. I've been working in here for quite some while. I'm going to miss it, now that i've been promoted. But since i was told to be here till things are figured out for me, i've got a little more time." Throwing back some bangs out of her face, Ali now felt the difference between employees and researchers. They really do belong in a different world, and she just hoped that she'd adjust to it.

"Plus, Edwin's horrible music is definately something to miss." Ali said, and began to laugh a good natured laugh. " I dare say he'll be missing mine as well."

Still giggling, Ali turned to her desk and went to see what list Edwin had left her. Scooping it up, She turned back to Yiiei.

" You want to hang out here for a bit? I've got a nice long list of things to do, and it'd be nice to have some company. That is, if you arn't too busy..." Ali looked at the girl, hoping for a positive response.

Upon Yiiei's agreement, Ali bounced to action. " Well, we could replant these cacti.... but that's always a prickly chore.' (Ali gave a slight snort at her horrible horrible joke.)' Or, if you want a shorter job, we could go weed the undergrowth area. We had an outbreak last week." Alinedra frowned, remembering Edwin's furious expression when he found out one of the plants had blossomed and seeded without any of their knowledge. " Shouldnt' be too hard, the plants we want to pull look a lot like starting grass, where the undergrowth doesn't. Actually, i should probably suggest that one. Jennine mentioned something about me meeting with someone today, and i don't know when it is, or who it is for that matter. Something about getting apprenticed off."

Taking a deep breath, the girl smiled at Yiiei. Having said that all in one sentance, she was sure she'd scared the woman off. The excitement gets the best of her it seems. She wondered if the woman could even translate any of her babbling.

Alinedra turned toward the girl's sudden outburst. " I know i'm a funny girl.... but i don't usually get that delayed of a reaction...." Ali smiled with a raised eyebrow, expecting to be let in on the joke. Noticing the note that the woman was holding, curiosity got the best of her. " What's that?"

Wed Feb 21 PRP thread

iving a hearty chuckle, Alinedra turned toward the woman. " It could be. However, if it's the Jennine i know, you might want to go now, without dawdling. You know how she is." Giving her a knowing glance, Ali turned around toward her work. " Besides, i've been working in here solo for the last long while. I'll be fine by myself," she added cheerfully," plus, that way i can play my music loud one more time before i have to act all responsible and what not." Laughing, Ali extended a hand to the woman. "It was nice seeing you today though, even if you arn't the one charged with my care, we should get to know each other more."

Having seen the small encounter through the window, Ali was glad that the woman had decided not to come in here and bark some order at her. Being in a wonderful mood, it would have harmed the opportunity of the rest of the day. Noticing Yiiei coming back in, Ali looked up and smiled.

"She's not the most pleasant person, but atleast she was blunt. What wonderfully short news did she have for you?" she said, looking up curiously at the observer.

Alinedra allowed herself to be pulled away from her beloved biodome. As if in a haze, they ended up finally infront of yiiei's office. Ali knew the woman had chatted the whole time, but not a word of it had stuck. Then, before the woman opened the dor, she pulled her aside and stared at the woman in earnest.

" Are you sure? I've really been apprenticed off? This isn't some trick?" With imploring eyes, Ali stared into the other woman's, searching for answers.

Alinedra took a deep breath. "No. I want to be here. Just still trying to digest the whole promotion thing. Going faster than i expected. Please, carry on."

It was all moving so fast, but Ali just had to remember that this is what she wanted. It's what she's waited for, and this was the process for her ultimate goal. Turning back to Yiiei, she smiled. "I'm fine, lets go meet your Eury. "

Fri May 18 Main thread. Page 521

Alinedra pushed her bangs out of her face and pushed open the door to the gardens. Eden had wanted to go out and play, and Ali herself was tired of being cooped up in her laboratory. She had just moved in, and there were still boxes and books scattered everywhere, as well as furniture she meant to put together that the staff had left for her. Edens stuff had been moved in, but not arranged much, and all in all she was just tired of looking at it.

To pass the time then, she and Eden had packed a lunch and grabbed some toys (and a little bit of work so she didnt feel like a complete bum) and decided to take their meal to the outdoors.

Running ahead, Eden began scouting for a spot to sit and eat. Finally choosing a bench under a flowering tree, he hopped up on it and sat down, waiting for Alinedra to get there. In the mean time, he began to play with Gong-xi, his friend grasshopper.

Alinedra had disapproved of Gong-xi at first, but after a while got used to the idea of a small insect around the office. She still wanted him to keep him in his cage most the time, but she found that more often than not it was in Edens hair or elsewhere crawling around. Ali smiled at the thought of him chasing it around the lab as she finally reached Eden and his perch. It had been the cutest thing, him giggling, and toppling over things. Fond memories, that would never dull.

Sitting down, they both dug in to their lunches, quietly munching their own feast, feeling the breeze on their faces, and enjoying the afternoon sun.

Sat May 19 pg 521

Alinedra peared up at the woman that had just asked to join her lunch. She assumed it was an employee, but as of yet had not encountered her. Covering her eyes from the glare of the sun she squinted up and nodded her approval.

"Sure, that'd be fine. I'm Alinedra, and this is my charge, Eden." She motioned to the toddler straddling the cement bench munching contentedly on a sandwich.

Just as the woman moved, Ali noticed movement out of the corner of her eye and smiled. Waving at the approaching Sodashi, Ali blew the bangs out of her face.

" Well hey there stranger! Long time no see. You want to join us? We're just sitting down to some lunch."
