The girl sat and waited for her love to come, but he has not shown yet, but the night wasn't over yet.
When owls call the breathless moon in the blue veil of the night the trees appear amidst the lanterns light. She held her hand up to the moon and let the petals rest upon her fingers. The promise that they made was soon to be complete on this very night.
"Wait for me." He said to her, "I'll come back for you, so wait for me."
She has been waiting for many nights and days for him to come back for her, for she can not leave this tree or this place. She was bound to this tree, she could only leave if true love came to get her.
The trees still blow in the wind and the petals still continue to fall, so who will go down to those shady groves and summon the shadows there. Will he come and tie a ribbon on her hand and set her free, or will she have to wait for time to be lost.

Her eyes were closed to the night, the petals still falling to the ground, making it look like it was snowing in the moonlight. Her breathing was slow, making her body seem like a statue. There gave no sign of her trying to leave the tree but if you were to ask the ancient ones that guard the tree, they will tell you in a whisper. Somebody cries in the middle of the night. Her tears shining in the moonlight.
The wind blew in the night air, making her open her eyes and look into the distance. The petals gave way to reveal her love walking towards her, a smile upon his face. She didn't move for she thought she was dreaming once again. In her dreams he was always walking to her, letting her know that it was her time to be free.
He was standing in front of her now, his hand held out for her to take it, that smile still on his face. "I've come to set you free."
Her eyes filled with tears and her hand shook as she held it out and placed it upon his own. He pulled her off the ground and held her in his arms. Her own arms went around him and held him close to her body. "I thought you forgot about me."
(Background music)

"I have always been looking after you. It is only now that I have been able to come get you"
Time had stoped for the both of them but they seemed to not notice. They both just stood there and held each other, her eyes still letting out tears. His eyes were closed, he didn't need them open to see what she looked like. He could see her face in his mind like he always did when he thought about her, just as he wanted to hold her now, never wanting to let her go. While her one hands held onto his body, never wanting to let go, thinking that if she did. Then he would leave her all alone again, never to come back.

"What took you so long?" She said in a low voice, "Why now are you able to come? She took a step back and looked into his eyes, waiting for him to answer her.
He opened his own eyes and looked back into hers and thought of the words to tell her why he had come. It was not something easy to say, for it could break a heart.
He took his eyes off her for only a minuet and looked at the tree. He could do nothing but feel the sadness for the pain he had caused her and made her wait for him for so long.
"Cause there's no easy way to say goodbye."
Her eyes looked at him with confusing, and so her arms fall to her side, the tears coming back faster and stronger now. "I don't want to be alone anymore. We made a promise to always be together. Or was that just a lie?" His arms came around her before she knew what was happen and felt his lips upon hers. How she dreamed of feeling his lips on hers and having his aims around her once more. She has always dreamed of him since the day he left. If this was a dream now, then she wished to never wake up and just dream forever with him by her side.
The wind blew and made the cherry tress petals blow all around them, the firefly's came out of hiding to come witness the kiss of true love.

"What is mine is now yours to leave or take." His voice was a whisper and his eyes held hers. "It's time to take you home."

"Does this mean I can come with you this time?" He had already spoken the words when he tied a ribbon to her hand, showing that she was free from the tree and this place. Her eyes shined in the moonlight as her voice filled the night sky with laughter. She was so happy she couldn't speak, but only laugh and cry, just as he was smiling at her, but his eyes still had sadness in them.

"Do you understand now? Why I had to wait for this time to come to you." He held her close to him, feeling a tear fall from his eye, having it be his turn to cry this time. "They would not let me come until you were ready to leave."
"I-I don't understand." She said slowly, "What are you trying to say."
He took one of her hands and held it to his lips and kissed it softly, while his tears fall on her hand, his eyes looked over her shoulder. "Turn around."
She was scared to do what he said but she knew she had to. Her body left like it was in slow motion as she turned around, but what she saw made her fall to her knees. It was her, still laying on the ground as if she was sleeping, but this time she wasn't breathing . Her chest wasn't moving and she looked just like a statue, lying in rest, finally set free.
"Lets go home." He held his hand out once more for her, and she took it again. He pulled her up and gave her a smile. He led her away from the tree and towards the light that was hidden by the cherry tress petals and the firefly's showed her the way home. She gave his hand a squeezed and took one last look at the tree. "Goodbye." Was the last words she said before disappearing into the light and went home with him by her side.
