"drink?" stroud held out a small tankard.
"oh no, no thank you, i still have scars from that arrow back in epica" answered erigion
stroud let out a loud obnoxious laugh.
"you mean the one that hit you mead pouch and set it alight on ya waist?" he said trying to contain the laughter.
erigion frowned.
"yes that one" he answered
"the thing blew up like one of your crazy inventions" he added.
"ah" stroud started
"my god what is it now?" asked erigion knowing full well what was coming.
stroud raised a finger then placed his drink on the table, and left the room, he came back in a few moments later carrying something under a large cloth.
"follow me" he instructed.
erigion sighed then got out of his chair and followed him outside to a small ledge overlooking the tiny pasture where he kept his cows.

he then handed erigion a pair of leather strapped goggles.
"put em on."he instucted.
"oh Christ.." he uttered putting them on

stroud pulled the cloth off the item and held it up with awe. it was tubular in appearance but had several vents coming off of what would be a barrel, in the center was a large container filled with all kinds of liquids going to a tube that looped around the device finally connecting to another container filled with another odd colored liquid, on the side of it was a slot to put something in, and there was a large tube to place your arm inside and grip a rod, the rod was made from the same stuff magites made there staffs and wands from, thus had magika enhancing properties.

"you'll love this" said stroud with a huge grin on his face.
he slipped the device on his arm and gripped the handle inside.
then he pointed it at the field of cows. after a few seconds the liquid inside began to glow and bubble franticly.

erigion stared amazed it hadn't exploded already and waited for it to do so. he knew stroud had a brilliant mind but he could never harness it correctly in his inventions.

his chain of thoughts were interrupted by a sudden and huge pulse of magika building up around stroud.
"i only got this far!! then i chickened out and let go!"he shouted over the noise of building energy's.

the light it was generating was fantastic the entire hillside was bathed in blue.
suddenly the magika charge reached full and fired from the end of the device hitting a cow and obliterating the entire heard and most of the field around it.

"holy....s**t" erigion said in shear amazement, he didn't usually use such words but this occasion was somewhat magnificent.

"STROUD THATS AMAZ..."he started to say as he turned only to find he was gone.
"over here my friend" a voice muttered.
erigion turned his gaze to a crumpled shape laying some 20 feet from where he was standing.

"got a bit of a kick eh" stroud said giggling to himself.
"your in shock" said erigion
"we need to get you back inside"he continued
"now THAT i was not expecting" stroud said still giggling to himself.

the two returned inside and began to discuss the events that just unfolded.
"so how does that thing work?" asked erigion with interest.
"well ya know how Irkalla can focus your magika into it and you can use it as a vessel to transfer it to the enemy and deal it damage." he asked?
"sure, but doesn't it have to be made from....you know.."
he lent over the table and whispered into strouds ear.
"exactly" said stroud with a grin.
"where did you get all that? and WHO made it, i mean we got ours from the divine, i highly doubt they do bulk orders." he said sarcastically.

"i melted down me legion armor." stroud said.
"YOU WHAT?!" erigion screamed.
"you heard."stroud answered
"i though well the next sodden war we get in armor sure as hell ain't gonna help us..not what we're fighting...but this...this could change it all, you saw what it did." stroud said with a serious tone to his voice.
"your right....for once your right....say you didn't melt the valkan did you?" erigion asked
"ye gods no, shes as sharp as ever mind.."he started

"um...hello" a tiny voice said from behind erigion.
the two turned their heads towards it, the voice had came from chapple.
"theres a dragon outside Mr stroud" he said worried
"its quite alright boy,hes a nice dragon..a friend of mine to be exact." said erigion kneeling down to chapple's height.

"WOW really? your FRIENDS with a DRAGON!" he asked excited.
"sure am" said erigion smiling.
"would you like to meet him?" he asked chapple.
the boys face lit up with excitement and he held his hand out to erigion.
he looked at it for a couple of seconds, then took it and the pair walked outside.

he sees his mother in him...stroud thought.
