Because.
New Books
Went to the Bookstore today and got all my stuff except some things for tutoring. I'm trying to decide if I should wait until after orientation to buy the tutor stuff, in case it doesn't happen after all, or do it while lines are short, i.e. tomorrow. confused

My books this semester have so far cost a bit over $596 if I remember correctly. I should try to find my receipt from last semester and compare. As I was leaving, one of my bags broke cause the books were too heavy for it and I ended up having to stick them in another bag (double-bagged this time) with the help of a couple of nice gentlemen. I got a papercut from one of the packets that really bled. eek That's very rare, usually they just sting.

I'm a bit worried, cause I let Debra convince me to write a check instead of using cash like I prefer, but instead of just taking the check, they did some weird stuff and turned it into an electronic bank draft. I didn't actually have the money in checking yet though, so I had to call my bank as soon as I got home and transfer the money from savings and hope it works out somehow. xd Next time, all advice from Debra will be ignored and I will just take the bus like I originally planned so neither of us is dependent on the schedule of the other. rolleyes

While I was there though, I managed to get the orientation times for a couple of other classes, and since the Tutoring Center was closed I just called when I got home to set up that orientation. Still don't know what I'm supposed to do with the Fitness Center as far as choosing my hours is concerned though. o_O

I hate school.

I don't want to go to the trouble of selling my books from last semester to anyone. I'll never get back the entire purchase price or probably anything close so I'd rather have the knowledge and lack of hassle. I want to just keep them forever and ever like I do everything else. People need to leave me alone.

Edit: Hmm...still need to pay the Student Health Fees thing too.

Holy bejeebus. Almost 600 bucks. That is crazy. o____o

How many books did you actually have? Were there a lot, or was it one of those occasions where you only have a few books but are inclined to go, "These sumbitches best be gold plated for this price! D< " ?

PHWOAR. Ever since I accidentally didnt change which bank account I wanted to add funds to PayPal from - you know, the account that actually had money in it - I've been überneurotic about using any of my banking stuff.

And student health fees? They might as well just nab a kidney while you're sleeping. DX

Well, that's what happens when you buy new I guess.

Okay, let's see. It's something like:
1 Pack of Scantron's, 882-E
4 Books
3 Study Guides/Answer Keys
2 Not Quite Books, More like Instruction Manuals
1 Package (Sheaf?) of loose photocopied papers bound together with a rubber band. Gave me the paper cut.

The tutoring materials will be at least another $10, possibly more if they require more than what I noted in the book list. So not so bad.

o_o What happened?

xd Well, they're only $14 a semester and it gives me the ability to go visit the nurse whenever I want and maybe the doctor on the days s/he's here if I need to.

Oh snap! Student health reminds me of another thing I need to journal about XD

I went to transfer money to my PayPal from my old bank account (US Bank - I use it for savings now) instead of from my school account (which is where all my paychecks get deposited to, so that's where I actually have money). So there werent funds in my US Bank one, so it got overdrawn, which I got an absurd fee for. And Paypal kept trying to take the money out of it even though there wasnt any in there. It was just a big mess and I felt bag because my mom put the money to balance out the account in there for me - I would've had to transfer it from my student account to Paypal to the US Bank account to fix it myself - so I felt really bad, because my mom is broke. D:

Was there blood all over the papers? You didnt have to go back and re-buy anything, did you? XP

Ah, that's what I'm always afraid is going to happen to me. Guess I won't know until my monthly statement and/or the next time I check my college records, for this particular time. sweatdrop Mine's just a Credit Union rather than a bank though, so hopefully it wouldn't be as bad as yours. Hopefully.

No, no, just a little blood on the bags luckily. And myself of course, but meh. xd

Wow.. that much for a semester certainly seems a little excessive, but I suppose that is the downside to education, you want it you must pay..

I haven't had a paper cut in years, now that I've said that I'm positive it will happen tomorrow xd those things hurt! It's nice to hear that people stopped to help, gotta love the helpful.

Hopefully it will work out for you and nothing will go wrong with your money, fingers crossed 3nodding

I'm exactly the same with my books, however my not selling them is generally out of laziness then anything else. It seems a bit silly to attempt dragging books that in total way more then I do down to a store that will give me about a quarter of the price I paid back.. I'm with you on keeping them, they may make good door stops one of these days

Yeah...too bad I don't actually want it, it's just kind of necessary to build job skills. xd

rofl I hope not, for your sake. Although I really don't remember any hurty cuts, just ones that sting if they get into citrus or something. Then again, I usually keep band-aids on them to prevent that from happening, so. Yeah. If it'd just been me I would have picked up the broken bag and carried it like you do with paper bags and stuff without handles. Which I did anyway for part of the time just in case. xd

Hmm, speaking of, I should probably go check my student records...

Exactly. blaugh
