It's my journal. La la la... OH! Yeah, a journal... it just says I need to make one. So... I am. Who knows.

quote="MagmaStrife"]”Yeah, she’s fine.” Iris said, ignoring the last comment Seth had tacked on and assuming the older boy had been referring to her new outfit and hair color. “Evidently Amy came and put the fear of court into her, so she dyed her hair and changed her appearance. I’ve seen her do it a couple times before. I have no idea why she picks the colors she does though…” He took another bite of food and munched it thoughtfully. “Hey, come to think of it, you didn’t stay last night. Where’d you go? I remember Amy, and then you came up the stairs, but I’m reasonably sure you didn’t sleep on the couch last night.”

"I stayed at my father's office." Seth continued to glance out the window. "She's good, I wouldn't've recognized her under normal circumstances. She could probably do as well as Di at spying." The thought had been mostly influenced by his way of living in Orphan. "But only if she can pull off male members as well. Any comments, Iris, as the brother of an expert disguiser?"

"Um... as far as I know, she's never dressed up as a guy." Iris said, slightly confused. "Though one of my shirts did go missing once... aw, wait no, we found it on the roof. Nevermind. Nope, never as a guy. Or did you mean as a basic disguiser? It's... annoying I guess. She normally does it when she's scared of getting caught for something, so you get this... 'visual paranoia'. Which is pretty weird." The hacker rubbed his head. "It hurts just trying to contemplate all the psychological, Freudian stuff it could mean... anyhow, what's it like knowing Di then? Any different?"

Maui was cleaning up the shop when Jay tromped in. "Write a note, we have to go, there's a change of clothes for you in the car." He announced. Maui blinked at him. "Um... why?" Jay wasn't in the mood to explain, his hands moving frantically as if they needed something to do with themselves or their owner would explode. "The funeral's today. Mom just called. It's in 40 minutes, get MOVING!"
Maui took the hint and scribbled out a barely legible note, sticking it to the counter with a piece of duct tape. "Marie! I have to go! Apologize to Gustaf for me." He called and the other waitress yelled back 'SLACKER!' - meaning she understood, she hoped he'd be back soon, and she hated his guts for making her work the store alone. There was a lot to be read into a single word.
The brothers went outside, where a dark Bentley was parked with tinted windows. Maui got in the back and started to change while the driver and Jay paid attention to the road. "Why now? We should have had it a long time ago..."
"She needed more time for the preparations." Jay replied and twisted to look back at Maui. "And there's something you should know before we get there." "And what would that be?"
"... Dominic's coming."
Maui almost ripped a button off the dress shirt he was pulling on. "WHAT?! He's in prison, he can't get out for a stupid..." He went silent, remember it was his father's funeral. You didn't call that stupid, no matter how ignored you were.
Jay ran a hand through his hair, messing up the ponytail. "He and Dad were apparently 'close'."
"Close as death..."
"--and he is a cousin, so he got a special three-hour parole. Very unusual. He'll be accompanied by two armed guards who'll prevent him from doing anything. Just ignore him if you can."
"Ignore him." Maui looked out the window listlessly, dressed to kill but unenthusiastic. "I don't think that's possible."
