A young man walks down a long empty hallway. His hair pale as his white suit. He wears a white cape.
“where is he?” he thinks “I know hes here”
the man begins to run down the hallway as he becomes lost in the memories of his past.

Many years ago
There is a small village. The children run and play freely, no cares in the world. Their parents watch them while doing their jobs. The village is happy and content. A mother holds her young baby close to her as she walks down the street watching the children and dreaming when her little boy will be big enough to play with the other children. She hums a soft tune to her sleeping baby. A few of the mothers walking by begin to hum the tune along with her.
That night the mother sings to her baby as he lies in a small hammock sleeping. She gently rocks the hammock to make sure her child is comfortable. She stops rocking his hammock to tend the fire in their home. She looks out the window and stares at the moon.
“stay safe, and return home soon,” she says quietly praying
she checks for the food she will need to make breakfast in the morning.
She will need some more food
She runs out to the neighbors to borrow the food
She quickly exits her neighbors with the food she will need to make her child’s meal
There are bright lights that follow her
Flaming arrows fly past her and strike her home
She screams as she runs into the flaming building to save her infant

A shadowy man enters the village smiling with his bow in hand
He throws it down and draws the swords at his side he shouts words of challenges as he runs through the village slicing down anyone who comes out to help
He laughs as he runs through the village
He sees the mother exit her burning home with something in her arms
Villagers carrying club like weapons and begin to attack the shadowy stranger
He evades the attacks and slashes down them
The mother begins to run after seeing the shadow man striking down the others
The man runs and follows he leaps over her and holds the blade to her throat
“what have ya got?” he orders as he takes the child from her arms
“give me back my baby” she cries
he looks at the infant and his mother “no” he cuts the young mother where she stands

in less than an hour the village is in ruin and most of the villagers are dead or hurt
the man holds the infant in his arm
he removes his mask of shadows and stares at the infant
“this could be fun” he smiles cruelly at the child “I will be the shadow you will be the light and together well lay waste and chaos in our steps”

years later
the child is older and training under his dark sensei
his hair is pale white while his teachers is black as night
“light come here” he orders
the boy comes over
“take this” he tosses him a white clothe “you are the light and must begin to act like it”
the boy puts on the cape
“take care of that cape I had to kill so many people to get it, its said to hold the power of light”
“thank you” he whispers
the man laughs “still planning on keeping your promise?”
he nods
“well ya got a lot of work if ya plan on killin’ me” he smiles as he grabs a toothpick and begins to clean his teeth as he walks away

present
the young man runs through the hall and reaches a door and opens it
the shadow man sits and waits cleaning his teeth with a toothpick
“was getting bored light” he stands and draws his sword
“just making it more dramatic” light responds
“atta boy” he lunges at the young man
the young mans cape begins to glow white and make a spiked armor as he leaps at his teachers
