[Kai Note: Kioshi is having a 'talk' with Daemion. Rem, Kai, Sotaru, & Luichen are trapped in some unknown dimension. Meanwhile... Aergan, Takara, Jack, Zaira, & Taronis are...]
The entire wooden structure was worn & nearly completely collapsed. The roof had caved in at one side; the plinted beams slanted at an angle inside the 30-foot abandoned warehouse. The rain hammered overhead, making the place damp & humid.
Zaira stared out through a hole in the roof. The dark, bluish-grey clouds loomed over her. Rain & tiny streams pattered at her feet. They had taken refuge in that rotting building which was nestled in the middle of nowhere. They had gotten off the beach before hteir next public viewing was on CNN. &, of course, a rain storm had to hit southern California at that moment.
THunder rolled & the roof shook dangerously. JAck didn't move from his slouched & sleeping form. Taronis, however, looked up from the blobof matter he was trying to morph. He stared warily up at the ceiling. With his concentration taken away, there was a small "blop" & the goo burst all over him, covering his clothes, hair, & face. He cursed & tried to wipe it off. Takara's mind was someplace else. She stared blankly at the spot in front of her with vacant eyes & half-drooped eye-lids. Her hand half-mindedly stroked Aergan's furry head. (Who, of which, was curled up next to her in a german shepard form.)
The storm continued to rage. The building shook with every gust of wind, every crash of thunder. A sudden movement from the doggie-Aergan blurrily aroused the group. Taka quickly removed her hand & looked down at the fuzzy brown head wih the perked up ears.
"What's the matter?" Jack asked.
It only took a second for the dog to morph into hte giant. "We've got company." he grumbled. A huge blast ripped apart the building, blowing it into thousands of pieces & throwing the full force of the storm onto the group. Taka, Jack, & Taronis flinched into fetal positions to protect themselves from the deadly shrapnel. Aergan ducked. There was a rush of snapping & crackling as a 20-foot ice wall, made of rain water & humidity, shot so fast from the gorund it seemed to just appear there. It sheltered them from the debris. Zaira stood her ground between the others & her ice wall, her body rigid with her forearm still raised from when she created the wall.
Aergan turned a 360 from his crouching position. A flame ignited in his left hand as the right withdrew his sword. As the sword passed under his left hand, it heated the blade as he brought it forward. He jumped to his feet near the end of the spin.
"Zaira! Duck!"
Zaira took a split second to peer at him over her shoulder. He lomed over her like a dark ominous shadow. His head was bent & his eyes narrowed in concentration, making his gaze on her look eerie. With flaming arch of fire created from his spin & the red-hot sword he looked like an element of Hell itself. She didn't need to be told the order twice.
Aergan flipped the sword & held it like a javelin. In that small ounce of time it too for him to aim, he could feel the scorching heat of the metal brush in pulses against his cheek from a few inches away. He let it fly. It flew like a firey spear over Zaira & stabbed into the ice up to the hilt. There was a second of pause as the heat melted the ice. The water hit the alkine blade & a huge flurry of white flames blossomed from the wall in an enormous BOOM!! that shook the earth & rumbled their intestines. Aergan's blade flew back to him, spinning like a top in unmeasurable speeds. He caught it deftly by the handle as it sped towards his head.
A troop of 15 darkly clad & masked warriors appeared behind the remains.Blood flew everywhere as four of them were caught by the icy shards. Takara & Zaiara disappeared into the atmosphere with their speed. The enemy readied themselves.
"Oi! Why are you running?!" Taronis shouted at them as he readied another blob of matter.
Aergan rolled his eyes as one brave, yet stupid, soul tried to attack him head-on. He had him cut down in a mid-lunge without so much as a flick of his wrist.
"Don't worry about them!" he said as he looked at the gruesome mask his victim wore. It had the grinning, demonic expression that haunted the deepest nightmares of children. In unison, three warriors from random spots shot into the air. As they somersaulted above, they released a shower of projectiles onto the group. They scattered, a series of explosions licking at their heels. With the three men seperated it was easy to surround them. A battle erupted on the plain.
Jack was confronted by a warrior who attacked him head on. As the masked being swung its broad sword Jack jumped backwards. THe blade hissed past his midsection, slicing through his clothes & grazing his skin. Two more joined on either side of him right when he got his footing. What happened next was a blur of movements. The newcomers shot at him. Their footsteps squelched in the mud & rain. Jack ducked at the slash from the right that meant to cut him half. He then somersaulted out of the way of the hack from the left.... but only to stop right in front of his first opponent, again. The being swung down at Jack's head. Jack raised his sword above his head. Sparks flew as the metals collided.
NOt far away, Aergan was trying to ward off four at once. THe charred remains of the fifth laid some yards off. After disinigrating their comrade with his sword, the rest made sure to keep a safe distance away. They hopped around him like fleas, dodging & ducking every swing hey dealt. He was more powerful than them, but they didn't stay in one place long enough for him to hit them. & they threw some attacks of their own. It took all his concentration to avoid & attack all four at once, giving him no chance to morph into something more useful. They continued dancing further from the others, locked in a stalemate.
"Aergan!"
The giant ducked just as a shower of ice needles whistled past him. They caught the four warriors in mid-air as they all lunged at him in his moment of inaction. They jolted, stiffened, & fell like sacks around the giant. Aergan straightened as Zaira landed cat-like before him. One being, who wasn't killed immediatly with the others, groaned at his feet. Aergan coolly put his foot on the side of their head & pressed down. The sickening sound of crushing bones & something squelching ripped through the pattered drumming of the downpour. Zaira winced.
"Appealing...."
"Quite." Aergan replied cheerily as he wiped the bottom of his boot on the soaked ground. He looked up. "Do you know where the others are?"
Zaira crossed her arms & turned to look at the landscape behind her. A serious, all-business expression pasted itself onto her usual bubbly face. She tried to peer past the dreary hills. The rain was so heavy it created a shimmering curtain across her vision. & the night was unusually dark, making it harder to see. Though she could hear the soudns of battle in the distance, it was hard to dipict the exact spot it was coming rom. Even with the rain, sound echo-ed all around the plains. After a moment of contemplation, she turned to look back at Aergan.
"I'm sure we can find out."
Aergan nodded & began to transform. His arms enlongated & shot out feathers to produce wings. His torso became longer & more oval. His legs shrunk into eagle's feet as long flowing tailfeathers swirled like ribbons behind him. His head grew rounder. His mouth & nose disappeared to form a finch-like beak. In a burst of blinding flames, a vibrant phoenix flared infront of Zaira.
Zaira grinned approvingly at the transformation. Aergan let out a powerful & deafening screech that nearly bursted her eardrums. He alighted into the sky. The flames pierced through the darkness & rain like God's light. Zaira followed after the searchlight he created to illuminate her path. She used her sensitive shinobi hearing to track the others & guide Aergan.

Luichen might as well had tried to see through a sea of cotton. The mist was thick enough to drown someone. He had tried to draw up a portal out of this fog that had almost risen instantaneously. But it seems the whoever made this dimension created something that didn't allow portals or teleportation methods to work. HE practically walked into a brick wall.
Luichen rubbed the bump on his head at the memory. So now he was stuck & stumbling through this bedamned fog. He couldn't see anything that wasn't two inches in front of him.
c***k!
c***k? Luichen thought. Aw fu-
Something flew through the fog, slicing through it & catching Luichen around the shoulders. Before he could react he was pinned to a tree directly behind him. (So THAT'S what he had run into earlier....) The demon saw stars as his head slammed into the mossy, yet hard, trunk. He choked his lost air back into his lungs.
"Soooooooooooootaaaaaaruuuuuuuuu....." he growled/hacked. Poison dripped from his words.
Sotaru dissipated the fog & appeared to Luichen on a low-hanging branch about five feet away. Luichen glared at him.
"Your trap?"
The ninja nodded.
"Your mist?"
Sotaru crossed his arms in an "I dare you" manner. "What if it was?"
Luichen sighed from annoyance & created a fire around his form to burn off the ropes.
"Spare me..." Sotaru sniffed. "Do you relaly think I would make it that simple?"
Luichen shot him a death glare. "Just untie me before I tie this rope to your innards & rip them out with it."
The shinobi jumped off his perch. "Yeah yeah.... keep your scales on..." he grumbled as he landed next to Luichen. He had loosened most of the loops when something struck the tree. Luichen turned his head to see an oddly shaped metal device stuck to a spot mere inches from his head. It was ticking.
"......please tell me that's yours...." the demon begged.
Sotaru peeked around, widened his eyes, & untied the last bit. "Let's just say you should run..."
The two jumped into the air but it was too late. A massive explosion blew the trees to bits & the after shock sent them spiraling to the ground. A bludging burst of flame followed after it & they were swallowed up....
