Shut Up, I'm trying to think of something witty here!
Space Adventure(s) Of Space Ventura Space Detective In Space
The space adventure of space Ventura space detective in space

He feared the gunshot wound in his chest; he remembered the sound, like thunder. He remembered the tears as they rolled down his cheeks. The excruciating pain as the bullet tore through his clothes and into his chest. He couldn’t believe he had failed this case. He had worked so hard and for it to end like this was just terrible. As he lay there he remembered how he had gotten himself into this terrible mess.
It was a cold damp winter night on the planet ZEDON; he was sitting at his desk in his office at the HERON office building down on 344th street. He glanced at the clock; it showed 11:32 PM, he sighed he hadn’t gotten a case all day and it was already closing time. “Humph, I can’t seem to get a case lately. If only someone would just appear in the building and want me to solve a case for them! I would do any case no matter what it was I would do it because… I really need the cash. But it’s not going to happen.”
All of a sudden, he heard someone banging loudly on his office door. He stood up and walked slowly towards the door, he made sure he had his pistol in hand just in case. Once he was near enough to the door, he answered. “Who’s there? And what do you want!” he asked. “A customer, if you’ll let me in.” answered a man’s voice. He moved back and slowly opened the door; a fearful looking young man rushed in, he had dark red hair, light skin and gray colored eyes, and he wore a long black coat with a black shirt and black pants and pair of fine leather shoes. The young man then sat down. “Are you Space Ventura?” the young man asked. The detective turned to close the door, “In fact I am, and who might I ask are you?” he replied, he then returned to his chair behind his desk and returned the gun to it’s drower. The young man then looked up “You can call me Zane Taros, and I need your help.”
Space smiled in excitement. “So Zane, what can I do for you?” Space asked. “Mr. Ventura, I have reason to believe that my life is in danger, and it all seems to be connected with an antique my grandfather left me when he died.” Zane replied. Space looked concerned, “Did you bring this…. Antique, with you?” Space asked. “Why, yes I did here I’ll take it out and show it to you.” Zane replied. Zane then dug into his bag and pulled out a beautiful yet old jewel encrusted miniature solid gold statue.
Zane then handed it over to Space, and he examined it for a while. “How much is this worth, exactly?” He asked. “Well, I’d have to say around 2 million dollars.” He replied. “Well there you go! Who ever wants you dead wants this statue so that they can have the 2 million dollars. By any chance did you tell anyone how much it is worth? You know anyone who would do anything to get it?” “Well no, but my grandfather was well known and so were his possessions like this statue, that may be how these people found out.” He answered.
Space sighed, “well if were done all the details, what is the real reason for you coming here?” he asked. “I was going to get to that, well you know how I said some people wanted this statue really badly right? Well they kidnapped my daughter and want this statue as ransom as well as another 12 million dollars. So what I want you to do is get my daughter back.” he replied very nearly braking down to tears.
Space sat there thinking for a moment, “hmmmmmm… well this is serious, I can’t guarantee it will be success but I can try. Alright I’ll take your case.” he replied. Zane then began to smile, “Thank you! Thank you! I’ll never forget this.” He said as he stood up and placed the statue back in the bag. He then moved towards the door, Space then stood up and followed him to the door and opened it, he then watched him as he walked down the hallway. “Oh, and don’t worry about a thing because Space Ventura is on the case!” he yelled.
Over the next month and a half he spent every waking moment searching for clues, leads, or anything that could point him in the right direction towards a chance to save Mr. Taros’ daughter, but he always came up short of anything useful. There was one day he found a thug in an alley talking about some priceless artifacts, but it turned out he was an entrepreneur and he was going to buy some antiques. He just couldn’t get anything useful at all. That was until one day he noticed a man following Mr. Taros from a distance, he decided he was going to follow him and solve this case using whatever lead he could get, no matter how weak it was he would use it. Little did he know that he would find more than just a lead, he would find the girl.
So he followed the man down about 12 blocks until he turned into an alley between two buildings, he followed him in and found the man cornering Mr. Taros and taking him and the statue, he also saw a helicopter and some thugs inside along with the girl. He knew this was his chance, so he pulled out his pistol ready for a gunfight and rushed in to help save Mr. Taros, the priceless antique, and his daughter.
Unluckily as soon as he rushed in the thugs opened fire on him he had to jump and dodge and run around but he only managed to save Mr. Taros, it seemed as though all hope was lost because they had taken the antique and they already had the girl. The thugs weren’t done though, they were going to take Zane, but Space was not about to let that happen, he pushed Zane away just as a bullet was fired through the air towards him. So instead of Mr. Taros getting shot Space did, and this is how he got here to where he lay on the ground as death crept up on him.
But as he finished he knew he had a job to accomplish and he would mostly because he wasn’t going to get paid unless he did, and more than one life was at stake. So he slowly rose to his feet and started charging towards the helicopter shooting with his pistol just to stay alive a moment longer, as he charged his whole life passed before his eyes his childhood his adolescence and his adulthood, but he didn’t pay much attention to it because he was trying to save the life of a small girl.
He continued charging forward not even stopping when he got shot several more times, he just kept on going firing his gun dodging bullets then firing again just to keep him and Mr. Taros and Mr. Taros’ daughter alive long enough to get out of there. As it slowly came to an end all the thugs were either dead or unconscious, so he limped over to the helicopter and rescued Mr. Taros’ daughter and the priceless antique, it was finally over he had solved the case, he had almost given up when he had cared whether he lived or died it was a good thing he didn’t otherwise they would all be dead.
When he thought about it, it made him smile because in the end it wasn’t going to matter at all. He would probably die anyway; there was no way to stop that. If only there was than he would be able to bask in the light of the sun a moment longer, but that was only a fools fantasy, he was going to die and there was no way to change that.
He then limped slowly back to where Mr. Taros was hiding and returned the girl and the antique, Space Ventura just couldn’t help but smile and accept the thanks for what he had done as he handed the girl and the antique to him.
But unfortunately he had taken too many bullets to his body and had lost too much blood, and so he fell to the ground, and as he lay there he looked up to the sky as his vision blurred and he slowly drifted off into a dreamless sleep from which he would never awaken. And so the adventures of Space Ventura Space detective in Space, end.

The End
