ASK YOURSELF in the most silent hour of your night: must I write? Dig into yourself for a deep answer. And if this answer rings out in assent, if you meet this solemn question with a strong, simple "I must," then build your life in accordance with this necessity..." - Rainer Maria Rilke
well, we had two soccer games back to back today. it was a little tiring, but since i was in goal the whole time, it must have been much worse for everyone else. plus a ton of people didn't show, including lori and the wtins (they went to florida) so jennifer had to play........... and she took my jersey so i had to wear a t-shirt......... but my mom promised to buy me a book in repentance so it's all good. whee
yeah. we played the same team for the two games. the second one they had more players. first game we won, 2-0. second game we lost 0-4. that kind of sucked. and there are 6 new girls, all of 'em i don't know. though i think one of them was on our team a season or two ago............................ i did okay in the first game. second game was horrible. one got through my legs. one whizzed past my head when i didn't reach high enough. another one, the ball got headed into the air, i couldn't find it, and they knee-d it in. that kinda sucked. plus i feel bad for ashley. her and allison (i remembered! not the mcdonald one.... coastal?) were the only ones that were working their hearts out. some defense girl did okay... but ashley makes me feel bad. because she works so hard, and when she gets tired, she pushes herself beyond the breaking point, then gets hurt. first game, she got the ball out of reach from a charging girl, but then slid on her hands and knees over ten feet over the turf. the ref. stopped play, but she didn't want a sub, so we played.
mom had to coach, even though aaron showed up. she doesn't even know all the positions, though i'm a senior. she tried her best though, so i can't really be mad. she didn't want to coach, but she was the only one lori really trusted i guess.
i'm going to have to train over the summer. big time. if there are enough players for the freshman team, i want to make it. but even though sam chard's team is like, a far away dream, it scares me to death. 8th grade soccer coach (i already forgot his name) and sam's goalie were supposedly all talking about me. geez, like i don't have enough pressure. i don't know why'd they talk: i'm a low average at best. do they really expect me to follow in jessica stall's footsteps? they'll just have to deal with their back up goalie from this year (unless she's graduating) cuz i'll never make it. randi. colby. jaymee. maybe miranda, mariah, or ashley. they have a chance as making it in freshman year. and with them, the roster will be awsome next year.
mrgreen if you try out randi, i'll cheer you on so obnoxiously loud from the sidelines that you'll hide behind the seniors. whee go london!!!!!!!!!!!
