Something's been bugging me lately. Why is it that in fairy tales, the evil one is always connected to royalty? Sometimes the king is evil, or maybe the queen. Or maybe it's just that one bad seed of a prince. The king's wizard tends to be evil a lot, too. Same goes for the captain of the guard.
I have one question. Why aren't there ever any evil peasants? I'm sure there are plenty of decent, hard-working peasants out there in fairy tale world, but there's bound to be one or two who are sick of weeding and feel like taking over the world. There are way more peasants than there are royals, so odds alone would suggest that there have to be a few dozen evil peasants for every demented wizard out there. Plus, there should be at least a dozen evil knights, but there's usually just "the Black Knight," and that's about it.
Am I really the only one who wants to read about a nice king with a loving wife, three kind children, and a compassionate wizard who one day decide to beat the tar out of a bunch of supremely evil farmers?
I really think there should be a story like that, but I'm far too busy writing other stories to deal with that one. Of course, that doesn't mean someone else is allowed to beat me to it. It's just not like me to give away freebies. And if I'm not me, then I have no idea who in the heck I am, and that brings up a whole new set of problems.
Or something like that.

Pretty much what the title says, but I'll probably throw in a few serious things, too.
