The Flickering Candle
I chuckle at myself, my deluded little self.
What had been so simple as a burst of plasma --a flame--
I built into a heresy of hope.
Liquid Sliding Down my veins, it deluded my hopeful mind.
I chuckle at myself.
My Star was neither "Newborn," nor "Star," nor was it mine.
With all the rage of a hapless, hateful, drunken father, I struck the waxing light.
The light then flickered, waning and
I sat in the Universe alone.
In the Pitch Black, I cried to myself,
"Why must I ruin the treasures of the Universe?"
For surely, I had destroyed a treasure of the Universe.
That Newborn Star, so bright with my imagined perception,
Faded quickly into the Abyss.
And I let it fade.
I let myself fade.
My treasure was gone, surely to never be recovered.
And all I had to show for my delusions was a ******** invitation.
Would you like to join me?

Yeah, yeah. Finally on. What a sad sum up to the newborn star poem. It seemed so hopeful....but it ends in tragedy. I was curious since I wrote a little poetry from time to time. Do you get inspiration based on events or do they just pop up as random thoughts and you just jot them down...or both?

Anyyyyywayys,

Good work. Very.
