Hey guys! Let me know what you think!
My Bedroom… My tomb
I lied in bed, the tossed sheets draped across my knees and rested upon the floor like a dead corpse. I tried to inhale the sweet scent of lavender that usually brought comfort to my room, but for some strange reason, it wasn’t there. I peered through the darkness, the deep shallow breathing that calmed my body, had drowned and mangled my chest like a series of knives. I felt around for my lamp, my heart accelerating against my rib cage as my hands began to shake and sweat with fear. My eyes rolled to the back of my head with such force that my mind seemed to explode in my skull as I realized that the item grabbed wasn’t my lamp…
I tried to pull away, but the cold, moist hand of a dead body gripped the base of my wrist, its nails digging deep into my flesh. I could feel the warmth of my own blood burning me, as it trickled down the hairs of my ensnared wrist. The more I pulled, the worse it got. The pain seemed to travel like a snake, slithering its way through my body, its venomous teeth puncturing each organ, and eating its way out of each orifice.
I don’t know if I could see its face, or if I was too horrified to look into the eyes of a creature so distorted and unhallowed. As its head twitched wildly and approached my own, I could hear a series of bones in the carcass’s neck cracking repeatedly. I tried once more to move my wrist, but the bending of my arm only caused the corpse’s rotten limb to break over and over again, appearing to have no effect on the creature.
Suddenly, its body began to convulse; the long dark hair draped over its face began to drip a liquid from its masticated mouth. Out through its chest, the carcass released a scream as its body was thrown forwards against the wall by some unknown force, relinquishing my arm from its grasp. Its lower stomach and hips twisted and cracked slowly, until both heels were firmly fastened to the wall.
A gurgling shriek filled the room so violently that the force caused my ears to bleed; painfully I screamed back. The arms of the carcass continued to break repeatedly while moving in a circular motion as the body seemed to drag itself up the wall.
The dark hair was long enough to cover the nakedness of the corpse; the echo of wet skin being dragged streamed through my room until it hit the Egyptian painting which was mounted on the forest green wall in the darkness. The glass protecting the painting shattered across the carcass, and the nail, which held the painting in place, penetrated its Achilles heel. The corpse’s nails grabbed and scratched at the wall as pieces of paint began to stick to its hands, causing the horrid sound of tape adhering to letting go of the walls.
As the carcass reached my ceiling, it crouched into the position of a pouncing lion, its revolting hands aimed at my face as it leaped towards me, and…
I woke up.
