Chapter 2
It wasn’t long until Saeran had his warriors ready and had them out with the human warriors. Saeran, Kristin, Raven, Lyari, and Aiden arrived at the front lines where Kuin, Kyte, and Skry waited. Saeran and Kristin bowed their heads to the human leaders. Kristin waved her hand to motion her friend next to her.
“General Kuin, Kyte, and Skry,” She said with a warm smile on her face. “These three are my friends and partners; Lyari, Aiden, and Raven.
The three Elven bowed their heads to the three men introduced to them. When Kuin’s eyes met with Raven’s he was in awe. Her long black hair was blowing in the wind, showing her lovely pointed ears and her eyes were a dazzling grey. He had never seen such extraordinary beauty. Her Elven features had him lost in a daydream and he was unable to pull his eyes from her.
“Aww, two more beautiful woman,” Kyte said making Kuin snap out of his daze.
“It is nice to have you three join us,” Kuin said and then sighed to himself. Stop having such thoughts, Kuin thought to himself, we are at war, not in a lustful daydream. Kuin’s eyes moved towards Kyte. Kyte had a grin on his face and Kuin could see that he wasn’t the only one daydream.
Seeing Kuin and Kyte they way they were, Skry let out a soft sigh and spoke up. “I think we should head out now and give these damned demons in for a surprise.” He said with a sign of blood lust in his eyes. “Lets show them what us humans and Elven can really do.”
Kristin totally agreed with Skry. She thought that she couldn’t of said it any better then why Skry has just said. She wanted to take care of those damned demons herself as well. She couldn’t wait to take her two swords and kill her first demon. Oh what join that would bring to her. “I agree lets go.” she finally said with eagerness in her eyes.
A loud roar of warriors could be heard from miles, as the group lead their way to Ails, ready to bring down the demons who want to destroy the world they loved.

Barido watched from a tower in his little cozy home, as the huge army of humans and Elvens headed they way to Ails. His eyes fell upon the group in the front of the army. He knew that one of them had to be Kristin and he turned away.
“Kristin,” He whispered softly to himself. “Please be careful. You hold a special power and you are our last hope to end this nasty war. Be careful, my dear Angel.”
Barido headed down from the tower into his kitchen. He hasn’t have had the time to eat since he was out talking to Prince Saeran all morning about Kristin and the trip ahead of them and his stomach had been making painful growls for the past few hours.
He walking into the kitchen and up to one of the cupboards to look for some bread. His hand stopped at the handle of a cupboard when he had heard a creaking sound behind him. Barido turned around to see who was in his house.
His eyes widened when his eyes had fallen upon a cloaked man. Barido couldn’t see the face of the man in front of him but he could see his glowing emerald eyes peering at him.
“W..Who are you,” Barido said as he watched the cloaked man approach him. Barido knew that this man was no good. He could feel the power of the cloaked man surround him and it was Dark Magic, there was no doubt about that.
The cloaked man said nothing to Barido until he was almost face to face with him. “Where is the Angel, Barido?” The man lifted a finger and whispered a spell Barido had never heard as he started to scream in pain. A deep cut started to appear on Barido’s forehead, piercing deep into his skull. “Where is the Angel and where is the army heading?”
Last thing Barido wanted to do was till the cloaked figure out who the Angel was and where she was. He could feel as the cloaked man tried to read his thoughts and Barido tried his hardest to use his enchantments to block the man from his thoughts, but it seemed useless when the cloaked figure spoke again.
“So the Angel is a half human, half Elven being.” The cloaked figure said with a hidden smirk on his face. “What is even better is that she is heading to Ails with the army. That just makes my job even easier then before. You have been useful Barido. Though I thought you would have been more of a fighter.”
“D… Don’t you t… touch her.” Barido tried to say though his screams of pain.
The cloaked man chuckled softly. “I am not going to hurt her,” He said. “I am just going to use her powers. But I believe we have talked for to long, Barido. I need to go to Ails to surprise the Angel and take her under my wing. The sad thing is, Barido, I can’t risk keeping you alive. I don’t need you messing up my plans. Good Bye.”
In a snap of the cloaked man’s finger, the piercing changed it’s routes from across the forehead to down Barido’s nose to his toes, splitting him completely in half. The cloaked figure left Barido’s two halves on the floor, bleeding, as he left the house and disappeared.

Something pulled at Kristin’s spirit as she looked head of her. It was as if someone was telling her that something bad had happened to Barido. A sign of worry hit Kristin as she stopped her horse and turned around. She closed her eye and quickly opened them as she kicked the sides of her horse to get it into a fast dash.
As soon as Raven, Kyte, Lyari, and Aiden saw her take off they all yelled at her confused. Saeran turned around when he heard them yell and kicked his horse into a fast run as well. “Stay her, I will see what is up with her.” Saeran yelled as he followed after Kristin. He had no clue what had happened to her. He thought that maybe something got to her and she was frightened to be in a war. Saeran shook his head. After what Barido had told him about her, that was like her. He knew what had happened to her father and knew she was going to get revenge for her father’s death. But, he thought to himself, what made her turn around and take off so fast.
The gates slowly opened for Kristin as she approached it. She kept her horse going as fast as it could go as she lead it towards Barido’s house that she learned to love. Barido, she thought to herself, what happened. Please tell me you are ok. Behind her she could hear Saeran’s voice yelling at her, but she ignored it. The most important thing to her right now was to make sure Barido was ok.
When Kristin finally approached the house, she stopped her horse, jumped off, and ran as fast as she could into the house.
“Barido,” Kristin yelled at the top of her voice, running room to room, hoping to find Barido. When she reached the kitchen and her eyes fell upon Barido’s dead body , split into two, on the floor, she let out a frightening scream. She backed up a few paces, as her eyes watered up, but she stopped when she bumped into someone. She quickly turned around and saw that it was Saeran. His eyes were as wide as her’s when he saw the body on the floor covered in blood. He pulled Kristin closer to him as he hid her face in his chest.
“By Kar, what in the world happened here,” Saeran said as he pulled the crying Kristin out of the kitchen into the next room. He kneeled down to the floor with Kristin still in his arms and held her tightly. “Kristin, what happened? Why did you take off so fast?”
Kristin looked up Saeran, her eyes were full of tears. “It was as if something had told me something had happened.” She said softly under the sounds she made as she sniffled. “Barido was like a father to me after my real father died and he means so much to me. I couldn’t... can’t stand losing. Why? What happened here? Who?” She closed her eyes as her eyes filled with more tears.
“I don’t know who, but who ever did this, will surely die.” Saeran said as he wiped Kristin’s tears from her eyes. He then gentle took Kristin’s face in his hands and kissed her forehead. “I will be here for you Kristin. Just like I promised Barido, I will keep you safe.” He held Kristin close to him as she cried away the pain and emptiness inside of her. She couldn’t believe that Barido was dead, but she wasn’t the only one who thought this. As Saeran held her close to him, he thought about what had happened, and who would have killed Barido. It couldn’t of been any of the humans because they don’t have such powers and the Elvens loved and cherished Barido, so none of them would have done it. He thought that maybe a demon came and killed him, but how would a demon get past anyone here. There were so many warriors, a demon would of never been able to get by without being seen. A low growl came from Saeran’s throat.
Kristin looked up at Saeran when she heard him growl. “Prince Saeran,” she asked. The tears were gone from her eyes but they were red from crying.
Saeran looked down at her and smiled slight. “Please, just call me by Saeran.” He said gently to her as he moved some of her hair from her face. “And I am ok. I am just thinking of who might have done this to our good friend.”
Kristin was slightly shocked when Saeran told her to call him by just his name. He was the Prince, and everyone had to call him by ‘Prince Saeran.’ “Pri.. Sae…” Kristin tried to say before Saeran placed a gentle finger on her lip.
“I will talk to you about it later, Kristin,” Saeran said as he stood and helped her up. “We must head out though. I don’t think The General will be to happy if we stay to long. I will send someone to take care of Barido’s body and give him a proper burial. I promise.” He said as he lead Kristin out of the house.
