I've got a fever of 102.04. I called my boss, told her I couldn't come in. She said, fine, she'd find someone to cover it. Then she calls back: "since there's no one to cover on such short notice, you'll have to come in anyway. But we'll let you leave early."

Now, sick days don't come with much advanced notice. You usually don't know you're sick until 12 or so hours before, since longer than that, you might get better. And this way, I lose 3 hours of pay and probably make myself sicker, instead of getting a full day's pay plus the time to recover. This makes me seriously angry. But then again, I tend to get irrationally enraged when I'm ill.
