Black Bear Peak Story #2
So, after we wrote that piece and posted on the English website, we got a new character and were supposed to add them into the addition of one of the stories someone else had written. I don't remember which piece this was, but here it is:

Mrs. Patricia Corinth rocked back and forth in her classic old rocking chair, Size 20 needles clicking back and forth in her bony hands, bright, pink yarn wrapped around them in a mess. Meanwhile, she was staring at the flashing TV screen with a huffed expression. "Back in my time this would have never happened..."
It seemed that just as she was finishing her thought, the doorbell chimed through the house. Patricia stopped knitting immediately. She pursed her lips and squinted her eyes. Who was coming over today, again?...Oh yes! Little Emily's daughter! Oh what was her name again? Something that starts with an X...
Ding-Dong! "Oh I better get that, then," she coughed.
Patricia pushed herself up off the chair, nearly falling over when the chair wobbled. "Coming!" she rasped. She grabbed her cane and hobbled over to to the entrance hall.
When she opened the door, she stopped and narrowed her eyes. Why, this girl looked nothing like her mother! Emily Lindwood had straight, light brown hair that fell past her hips and pretty green eyes. She was short and shy and quiet.
The girl standing in front of her, however, was a good 4 inches taller than her with big, poofy black hair in millions of little ringlets, ice blue eyes, and a very strange look on her face. Her mouth hung open a bit and her eyes gazed in the direction of Patricia's goat stable.
Suddenly, her face flicked to the small woman standing in the overly large doorway.
"Oh hi, Mrs. Corinth!" she said cheerily, a wide smile on her face."Oh, or can I call you grandma? 'Cause you are my grandma." Her face fell for a second. "You are Patricia Corinth, right?"
Patricia had to calm herself for a second before letting out a tiny chuckle and replying, "Are you Emily's daughter?"
The girl relaxed and coolly put out her hand. "Yah, I'm Erin Lindwood."
"Hm, well I'll call you Erin and you may call me Grandma."
"Wah..?"
Erin turned around and Patricia leaned to look over her shoulder. Standing on the sidewalk in front of Patricia's lawn was Akira, a tall boy with a confused look on his face. He was holding up a blue bike while an orange one stood on it's kickstand next to it.
He kicked the stand down and let the bike support itself before abandoning it and walking towards the two.
"You mean you just met? You just met your grandmother?" he said with a shocked look on his face.
Erin gave a nervous laugh, "Grandma this is Akira, a boy from my school." She turned to Akira. "I just moved because she had told my mother about a house that was for sale nearby. I hadn't met her before because she's lived here forever."
"Oh no!" Patricia corrected. "Not forever-just since I was born. I can show you your mother's old bedroom that was mine before if you'd just come inside--"
"Oh, I'm sorry, Grandma," Erin interrupted. "I need to go now. My mom told me to just stop by to introduce myself before I went off riding with Akira. It was great meeting you, though."
"What?" Patricia said, a little disappointed. "Wouldn't you meet the goats, though? Really quickly?"
Erin stopped talking immediately, her face contorted into a very odd expression.
"Y-you have...goats? Akira forced out of his mouth.
Patricia thought this boy was silly. "Oh yes! There's Frederick, Charles, Madeleine, Natalie, Julia, William, and Eric. But their nicknames are--"
"Sorry, Grandma, but we better get going," Erin interrupted again."It's supposed to rain tonight and it's already three. I'll come visit with the rest of the family another time."
"There's more of you?"
"Yah, five."
Patricia looked extremely surprised. "Oh, well then I'll just have to meet them another time then. Carry on!"
And with that she closed the door gently behind them.
Erin and Akira mounted their bikes.
"Crazy goat lady..." Akira muttered.
"Hey! That's my grandma you're talking about!"
"You just met her!"
"Yah, well--"
And they rode away.
