*Nights like this one would always be remembered
as cold. For these were Halcyone days, and the
waters were strange.
These were the days of long-lost love and death- a
sacrifice between two lovers long ago. And as the
sun dawned the kingfishers would rise once more.
But these were just tales, and life isn't always like
that.
The moonlight flecked upon the tides, and smiled
down upon a woman's grace. For she walked along
the shore, bare-footed and calm.
Her ivory skin was the first of her striking features,
and it glowed heavenly, despite being no angel.
The next, was the trails of ashen hair, curled and
almost down to her hips, amongst the locks were
many beads and pearls, all entwined in amongst
her hair.
Her third feature was not visible- for the peak of
her pirate's hat was pulled down across her eyes.
She walked confidently across the sand, biting her
lower lip with hidden worry. Halcyone days troubled
her.
She decided that she had stayed by the waters long
enough, and set flight into the skies- heading for the
one place she knew of refuge.
As the cold air zoomed past her she couldn't help
but shiver- goosebumps tainted her porcelain skin,
and her teeth chattered a little.
She arrived at her destination in good time, and
took her time opening the door of the Haven. She
hated the stare of strangers, and it was best to enter
quietly, for her own sake.
She wandered up to the bar, her gowns flowing in the
draught, and signalled the bartender for her usual,
taking a seat she hooked one leg over the other, and
her obscured eyes scanned the bar with doubtful hope
of company.*

*Snow fell from the heavens to the soily
earth, spiraling downwards like frozen
cherry blossom. The lake remained
undisturbed- no a single ripple flickered
along its cool surface.
No wind blew, and the silence was almost
suffercating.
Until, a figure was seen in the distance. It
rose up from the ground, black oil clinging
onto its leathery wings. The heat of the
liquid melted the snow, the intencity of her
presence caused the lake to tremble.
Flicking the oil off like dust, she streached-
she had slumbered long enough.
Her face was hidden under a masquerade;
only her startling red lips and porcelain
cheeks were visable to anyone who cared
to look.*
"Looks like another cold-hearted day.."
*She flew across the lake and landed just
outside the Haven.
Upon her entry she carefully scanned the
room, doubting if anyone should have the
curtisy to address her...*

*Above the perpetual shards of thunder flies a Vampiress with her head held high, in one hand she held a katana- blood dripped down its edge. In the other, she held an orb of pure black fire, the flames danced around her knuckles and crackled violently.
It had been a long time since she had drank from mortal souls, the paleness in her skin shew this. But still she hunted. She clasped the katana tight and slid it down her throat, when it came out not a drop of blood remained. She licked her lips lustfully and flew downwards to the bar.
Upon her entry she took her time, to trace with delicate perfection the curve of her upper lip. She rested in the rafters and watched the angry pyro she held struggle with all the vengence and sweet torment of a billion forgotton souls at sea.
And there.... she waited.*

*The skies swirled and faded from its usual midnight glow to a deep scarlet.
The ravens in the courtyard flew upwards,
spiralling around the heaven with cries that pierced the stars.
Thunderclouds gathered sinisterly over the night's sky and out
of them flew LittleMissBlackart.
Her presence was one of sheer elegance- she wore a long black
ballgown with lace around the hem and bust, a pair of velvety gloves,
a tiara with many gems twisted around her renaissance-style hair,
and a diamond necklace on a white gold chain. Her eyes were a
startling crimson, her skin; porcelain.
Gracefully, she strode towards the bar, flexing her bat-like wings.
It had been a rough night, her hunt was invain once again.
It seemed that the Haven was her only source of fair refuge.
Quickening her pace she felt a cold wind blow on her bare
shoulders, and seconds after it began to rain- the cool raindrops
soothed her tired flesh and reminded her so dearly of her
long-lost love. Of kissing in the rain without fear.
All these thoughts twisted around in her head, bringing her back
to unfufilled dreams, forgotton memories and some distant hope
she never reached. She lit herself a cigarette, continuing to stride,
and inhaled; finding some relief.
She looked up to the skies, the rain stopping, and she embraced
the billions of stars once more. Her eyes twinkling along with
them. Taking another long drag she exhaled a cloud of smoke,
which hung around her perfumed neck and around her head like
a forsaken halo. She flicked the cig to the ground and snubbed the
end out with her foot- somehow symbolically to her own
damned life.
Without really realising it she had arrived at the Haven door.
She closed her eyes for a moment- still lost in thought. She
pushed the door open, sighing slightly and headed towards
the bar, signalling to the bartender for a blood vodka.
She waited patiently for her drink, rubbing her hands together
for warmth, and casting her eyes around the Haven;
wondering if someone may have the curtisy to speak to her.******************************
*And still with all my utter torment
I sing:
" Show your face
Don't hide
Take off the mask now
Underneath is a deep dark secret
Take me for a ride
Upon your white horse
Take your love
'Cause I don't want to keep it
I am out of place
And honey you are out of Time
I'd tell your fortune
But the words don't rhyme
I'm not your chambermaid
You're not my lord
All the fine games we played
Have left me bored
I never want to see you come around
my castle
'Cause I just can't afford to love you
I'm not your chambermaid
You're not my lord
Tell me what I have to do to make you
Understand it's a lost cause lover
Tell me while you're at it how it feels to
Hold me close when you've been
thinking of her
I don't want to hear you say you
love me
You've been gone such a long time
Won't you turn around
Before I have to see this
Face I once adored
Don't you see
I am out of place
And honey you are out of Time
I'd tell your fortune
But the words don't rhyme
I'm not your chambermaid
You're not my lord
All the fine games we played
Have left me bored
I never want to see you come around my castle
'Cause I just can't afford to love you
I'm not your chambermaid
You're not my lord
You have no hold over me
What's in your cards now let me see
I hope you've got what you wanted
There's just one thing I know will never be
I'm not your chambermaid
You're not my lord
All the fine games we played
Have left me bored
I never want to see you come around my castle
'Cause I just can't afford to love you
I'm not your chambermaid
You're not my lord."
