okay in recent story by the assosiated pres's Joe Mcdonald (cited here: http://broadband.zoomtown.com/news/read.php?ps=1016&id=14312965&_LT=HOME_LARSDCCLM_UNEWS) the chinese government has been taking ever larger steps to ban foreign programming. Here's the reason: it is taking away from thier nations cartooning industry. I assume you agree with me as i say, this is bull. The chinese cartooning industry (according to this report) is known for un-originality. While "journey to the west" is a very important story to keep alive it cannnot be shown over and over and still be entertaining. For instance: how many times can you see a story based on king Arther and not be bored out of your skull? my point is; China's animation studios need to rise to the occasion and do something new, evolve. they need to improve themselves instead of waiting for the government to "lower the bar" for them.
By now you may be asking yourself: "now what does that have to do with gaia?". Mostly, the newest updates. starting with the "gift credits" gaia's admin been making things easier and easier for Gaians to obtain cool items with aminimum of work that is, without earning them. So, the admin just raising a weaker crop of people to higher status. Other examples the new starter sets and the "word bump" game. they make it much to easy to get gold or quality items. now, before you say it, i'm no elitist and i would like very much for gaians to be able to obtain items on par with fairy wings or donation items. But, these items must be earned and not handed to you with little to no effort. If you want equality you want an equal opportunity to obtain expensive items, this is what you have always had. but if you want to get them easier..equality isn't what you're after. Perhaps the flamers will make fun of you and your "n00b" clothes, well guess what, we had to endure that too and it made us stronger and wiser.
Please guys don't make somone come down and carry you, stand up and learn to climb, only then can you reach the peak (bad pun, i know) of your strength.

if this elitist mentality continues, it will be the end of gaia...tell me, how do you intend to get higher without posting under someone with higher! this was probably supposed to encourage interdependance, or it would if most gaians had character instead of greed. this would have been the good result, this has only shown the black slimy core that resides in most gaians. of course we all want items but, by putting these minimum levels on grunny amounts you are being worse that your terrible leeches. you are ignorant to it, don't care or worst of the three...refuse to look at that part of yourself.
if you want to see the change, why don't you see the previous halloween event. people just laughed and had fun with each other, the items were not the main concern. part of this was that they didn't care about them and part of it was, if they missed an item or 5 they could get it from a gaian pretty easily. i may have not been there but, i looked through the old threads and the striking change from a shining pearl to a glob of tar is..is...repulsive.
why do think it is utterly boring to take polls? why do you think gold takes a while to accumulate? BECAUSE THAT IS NOT THE REASON FOR GAIA! THAT IS NOT THE REASON WHY GAIA BECAME SO POPULAR! IT IS THERE WAS A COMMUNITY OF PEOPLE THAT WOULD SUPPORT AND MENTOR YOU! NOW IF YOU MAKE A THREAD ABOUT SOMTHING THAT SOMEONE HAS SEEN BEFORE, ASK A QUESTION, OR SIMPLY WRITE YOUR OPINION YOU GET FLAMED!
if this continues, gaia is doomed.

it seems that as more and more citizens become aware of thier "rights" they become flamboyant in demanding them. In most of these cases they have mis-interperated most of them in the first place. they take the meaning they want the law to have, and when they are corrected they assume that thier interperatation is best, this is arrogance. One should not blindly accept everything they are told, and in most cases people who believe themselves to be "liberal" are just blindly accepting what a separate faction tells them, not thinking on thier own as they may believe.
back on the point, your interperation is not always correct and to assume you are, only causes people to disregard your point of view. truly this stems from people wanting thier own way.

i know very few people read this, but for those who do.....
i hate school dances! they go against alot of the things i stand for...plus i have no rythm. you get all dressed up and phony then you dance to a bunch of songs in a big group or just sit there...i have no problem with other people liking these things but, i don't...i despise dressing up, i have no rythm so there is nothing more annoying than being forced to go to one...and yes i am not exageratting my school decided it would be fun to "suprise" us with a freshman dance during intersession. i needless to say just sat in a dark corner and tried to sleep. Would they leave me alone? no! a group of girls went around rubbing themselves on random people then running away! i know to some guys this sounds great....but, to me i had no idea who was sticking thier butt in my face so i couldn't enjoy it...yeah yeah i know it's weird...but i'm just minding my own business when wham! i get blind sighted. Okay, i could forgive them forcing us to go if it weren't for two things....they wouldn't let us leave! they just sat there and guarded the door! i know thats normal for dances but it's not like i was trying to leave with anyone! i was just trying to leave! the second thing is when they did bring snacks they brought like five two-liters for like 150 people! i mean if your gonna force someone to be there then give free food....you have to at least make sure there is enough!....

i thought this would be interesting to put out there
okay say you go back in time,normally you would be obsessed with not changing the timeline but, it is impossible to change it because it has already happened in the future that you came from so anything you do in the past you had already done in your future, now here's the part i haven't figured out...say while in the past you brought about events that caused your birth that otherwise wouldn't have happened if you had not been there but, if you came from the future than these events had to take place before you were born but, you wouldn't be born if these events had not took place....confusing, huh? sweatdrop

have you ever wanted to be a character in a anime or a good book? well if you have, have you ever wondered why you envision yourself in that story? I believe the answer comes from why your reading or watching it in the first place. You see you expieriance this story because some part of you identifies with the story's characters in a very distinct fashion. you see most people spend thier lives searching for purpose whether they find that out is all up to them but in a story there is usually some goal to reach some solution to be had, and with most poeple they don't see a distinct goal for thier life and try to search for it. Some poeple find this in the form of a great cause some find it in the form of having a wife and a family some find it in the form of finding true love, and yet some find it in as simple a thing as helping others on thier search for meaning, for purpose. But for those who have not yet acieved thier goal thier purpose or don't even know what it is, do not lose hope you will find it if you search close enough, if you search your heart and your mind, you will find it, although it will not be easy when you do find it your will finally feel complete.
