I am the founder of Christoerianism. I need to collect my thought about so I can explain it better to potential converts. biggrin Here's a chuck of an explanation I just sent to a friend, stored here for archival purposes.

Everything in the world is understandable if you believe it's all caused by Chaos. The universe tends towards entropy, after all. The Christian Trinity of 3 persons that are only 1 God but don't take turns or anything? It makes sense once you realise the point is to not make sense. With its celebration of insanity I can see Discordianism being popular with most Joker enthusiasts. The nicest thing in my mind is that, the only rule being that it has no rules, it can be combined with any other religion. It's a state of conciousness rather than a set of dogmas.
I'm a particular sect of Discordianist called Christoerin. The name is a combination of the words Christ/Christian & Erin (the masculine form of Eris--which I totally made up). Because my Catholicism comes first to me, I don't think of Eris as a goddess, but rather the personification of God's holy chaos. We're the heretics of crazy. biggrin In my mind, Catholicism & Discordianism are the perfect compliments to each other. Catholicism provides the worldview grid & Discordianism the chaos that forms everything. "But Mome, Catholicism is all these rules & Discordianism is anti-rules!" gonk First of all, one word: dualism. Second of all, we have rules because of the fall of man in the garden of Eden. If we were still perfect, we'd know how best to treat each other without having to be told. Having to follow rules is also part of the curse of original sin. Original sin gave humanity the driving need to comprehend everything, so God had to change the world from its natural state to something with rules so that it would make sense & we wouldn't break our minds.
As you see, I take my silliness seriously. Also, I have an intermittant buzzing in one ear. I can't find anything that's causing it, but it sounds like there's a bug in there & it's scaring me. Help! eek
