Post Date to May 6th. I'm only now able to write or think of it without breaking down. That day I attended the funeral of my beloved cousin, Casey. She blazed into the world craving stardom. She sang, danced, acted, cheered, modeled, created, laughed and breathed the world in; and the world breathed her in and sighed in contentment. She was only 23 years old when her illness finally took her from this world. She was trying to share what she loved more than anything else in this world, her faith, with someone until the instant she died. She seized and slipped under the water of her bath while she was texting a young man who was courting her. She and I were inseparable when our families gathered together. We were mischief makers and dreamers. We dreamt of far off places that were grander than our small town, and we stirred up trouble for our aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and parents. To the day I die, I'll keep stirring as if she's right there with me and I'll look towards the far-off hills and dream of whats on the other side, as we did together as children. I will always love you, Case, and I need someone to inspire me to e more than a small-town girl, I'll think of you and how many lives you touched.
