After years of playing on Gaia and taking long breaks from time to time, I believe it's high time I left Gaia for once and for all. I've had my fun here and I've had problems here. Most of the situations though were those of problem and they have not improved at all, so I say now that I am leaving Gaia for once and for all, it is the statement gripped tight by me. I'd rather not leave, but I've seen the community here and I am ashamed. I joined when I was 15 years old, so yes I can say that I was once a teenager. Sadly enough I remember that being a teenager meant that you could be immature and get away with it, but over time I've been noticing that the teenagers are just getting worse and worse. English is failed over here by seventeen-year-old United States students and they all have worse attitudes than spoiled five-year-olds with rich parents who came to their every whim.
Rebellion is getting out of hand here and it seems as though that we all don't need a community to stick together if all we do is flame each other. What ever happened about the fun here on Gaia? What about playing games with your friends and having a good time? Was it all just forgotten, even by the forum moderators? I understand full and well the freedom of speech, but a forum's rules are a forum's rules, and it's just pathetic that all the rules here are broken in every other post, yet the moment one person abides by all the rules and tries to make a friendly topic they are shut down and flamed with rude and obnoxious members to this site. Seeing as I need no more friends than I already have, buying new items for my 'avatar' will only make me obsolete compared to all the cash shop items "the best completely free MMO forums out there" supplies to it's sheep heard of users, I see no point in trying to do something original with my character if nothing here is original and all of the arena posts are "give me 10 score, ploz," and, "this is my character. he is naroto" misspelling everything, doing a shoddy job of remaking a character using none of the items this site's developers made in hoping that they looked enough like the show's clothing pieces they were inspired by, and always demanding a highest score instead of an honest score.
When it comes to scores I understand that all over the internet these days there are usually five stars or ten numerical rankings, sometimes adding 0 onto their chart, but as the users of these sites sees, there are only 2 numbers: one and 10; or two stars: one and five. It's sad to see that everything has to be the best, or the worst instead of somewhere in the middle. So instead of being the highest ranked video, picture, or avatar on whatever site you may be scoring, it's always how many people voted for it over how high of a ranking it received.
English is also a poor subject on the internet these days. For the most part websites are hosted in the United States of America, where our primary language is English, yet we see that even site admins have a hard time comprehending this. Gaia is lucky to avoid this aspect or at least from the admins' side of affairs where as users almost always have a hard time understanding what a user is saying when the response to or a first topic is broken sentences with no structure and completely misspelled words by a citizen born, raised, and still lives in the United States. How did we even graduate high school or promote from elementary school when we can't even end a sentence with a period (.) a question with a question mark (?) or an exclamation with an exclamation mark (!)? It's amazing to see that when you're online every sentence either has no punctuation mark at the end, or if it's a sentence it ends with an ellipsis (...).
I know that the topic has begun with bashing Gaia and thus my reason for leaving and I dragged the topic out to the rest of the internet, but it is only because I am only ridiculed when I am at this site, where as all the other one's I've been to my words have always been heard, even if they were disagreeable, where as people here don't even read a topic, they just look for pretty pictures, or pretty colors of fonts and only answer you politely if you have a female character, whether you are a male or female in actuality. I actually went out and created a female character for this site primarily so I can ask questions as her because the ones asked with this character were again: shot down and flamed, whereas my female character was always treated like a queen, even if I bashed another player, which would be another of my mules or my main.
I also enjoy the fact that you cannot post in the forums without being flamed or your topics removed because in your signature, post, or profile you show a male next to a female, in the least, holding hands because nobody appreciates a straight community. "Being homosexual is the latest thing! What? You didn't know? Come on! It's like backwards hats: it just caught on! Gay or get out!" Believe me, I have no ill feelings for the gay community, but I dislike the fact that many people today are completely abandoning the straight community or completely disregarding them because they are moving to, or already are homosexual, and not for the true homosexuality concept (uncontrollably and unwillingly physically attracted to the same gender) but for the sake of being a homosexual, even if they do not enjoy it.
Out of all of the sites I have joined in hopes of enjoying it with a large community, I clearly understand that Gaia was a bad choice for me and have hereby declared my departure in search for a more mature website that doesn't have a teenager in every corner complaining that they're homosexual just for the sake of the end of the above paragraph, or having a teenage girl post in the forum asking the community what she should tell her parents when they find out their sweet little thirteen-year-old angel was impregnated by a twenty-five-year-old only because she loved him and she believes that he loves her back, and it's not because he is a *****. I am in search of a community where you can post life problems, but they do not have to be overly dramatic and filled with hatred, and yet one can still be supported by the community with either complete understanding or an attempt to do so. In search of a community where you don't have to be agreed with a topic you made in a polite fashion and still be able to post back without one biting the other's head off. In search of a community where you have US school graduates who understand the basic concept of the English language and may happen to make a spelling error, or a grammatical error but you can still understand the statement or question without too much hassle. In search of a community where you can be you without having to have an avatar to hide your true self, even if it is a role-playing game and you may still have fun, role playing and seriously talking.
I know I may never complete my quest but it comes to one question: if I won't do it, who will?
Do you want to consider this against the Gaia rules? Do you want to mark this as spam and move it into the chatterbox? Is this a bannable offence? If it matches any of the three, then by all means, do as you want with this, Gaia community! I will not apologize for the art of the amendment that you all claim to have that I, and many others, are not allowed.
And with that, I bid you all farewell and hope that you have a better experience on this site and many others than I have.
