A First Love
Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is time that this show comes to an end,
You have seen the highs and lows,
The fights, the blows,
The pain,
The smiles seem less and less....
Faded and non-existent,
Into the shadow the actors fall

Once happy and bright,
A promise of life, and joy,
Smiles wide and eyes sparkled,
Every touch sent shivers of pleasure down their spines,
They weren’t actors then,
No,

Then fights broke out,
Full out brawls over the smallest things,
But in the end they were what really mattered,
The small things,
The tiny little nothings
Could be the key to the most important foundations,
that held them together,

He can hardly look at her,
Refuses contact with her,
To kiss is a chore,
To hug is a punishment
He can’t even hold her hand,
And she cries at night,
The pain is real, the tears are real
She is not acting,
No, she’s not acting,

She knows what she wants in life,
And knows now it’s not with him,
She has to force a smile when she sees him now,
