Dio is described by many as a sort of vagabond. Almost always in another place, it's as if he has his mind on everything or nothing. Always bearing a cold gaze to those who don't know him, many are unknown of the man behind that look.
Although graduated from school in the previous year, Dio still remains at the school as a place of residence instead of his own home, fed up with the bickering and divide of his parents. To survive, Dio does several odd jobs and performs on the street. Despite his circumstances with his life and family though, Dio still has a great love for his younger sister, often buying her gifts or taking her shopping with the money he earns instead of using it for himself.
Dio is often regarded as "reliable but reckless" by his fellow SEES members for rushing in a lot and trying to be stylish. Dio doesn't necessarily approve of his younger sister being a part of SEES due to the risk, but he respects her decision nonetheless. Dio also has a minor crush on Aigis but he is fully aware that his feelings are unrequited.
