Name: Cavalier Scar

Race: Pegasus

Appearance: Cavalier Scar

Bio: Cavalier’s family broke up before she could even fly. Her family consisted of her Father, a Pegasus; her Mother, a Unicorn and her older brother, also a Unicorn and her, an infant Pegasus. For the first year of her life, her family lived in Trottingham. Her mother came from money and they lived quite nicely for a while. How was her mom to know that her father was a con artist? He hadn’t conned her or her family, of course, but when she found out a fight broke out between her parents over her dad’s ‘bad habits’. Her mother ordered him to leave, offering him a fair amount of money to take with him if he left the children behind. Despite her wishes to keep Cavalier, not wanting her to grow up to be like her father, her dad persuaded her otherwise, saying a Pegasus should live in the clouds, with its own kind. The next day, the two left and moved to Cloudsdale.

Once in Cloudsdale, her father opened up his own shop, selling racing equipment to Pegasi. Apparently, he was also running another job on the side, trying to con a rich Pegasus, hoping to gain a fraction of the envied fortune. He was found out by the Pegasi’s wife. Although he was initially supposed to be imprisoned, he managed to escape to Ponyville with Cavalier, half his shop’s equipment and whatever money he could grab on the way. He opened another shop in Ponyville, this one being a simple thrift shop, instead of a big equipment store. As if his common sense just kicked in, he decided to run this business honestly instead of conning ponies for a bigger payday.

Because no one in Cloudsdale knew who her father was, she was able to still attend school there and go home at night. Instead of going home at night though, she began stealing. Her father’s shop wasn’t getting as many customers as he’d hoped. She couldn’t bear to watch her father con another pony and have to run once again. So, she decided to do what she could to help keep him clean. At first, she stole from ponies in Cloudsdale, but she soon escalated to other nearby towns, avoiding Ponyville. Since she gave what she stole to the thrift store, it’d be suspicious if a pony from Ponyville came in one day and saw their recently stolen possessions in the store. Her father, having no idea of her nightly antics, was pleased by his recent boom in customers. That alone made her love the stealing even more. Well, that and the adrenaline rush.

One night, her target was a pony named Valor Tai. A well known weapons collector. The specific item she was after wasn't the best blade in his collection, but it wasn't the worst either. It was double edged and had a violet gem in the middle, rumored to be enchanted. Despite it's appearance, it wouldn't be missed. There were others far more beautiful than the 6-inch dagger. Surprisingly enough though, she wasn't the only thief going after the dagger. A pair of shadows stood across the room, staring at the dagger. At first, she thought it was the owner and his friend, but she quickly noticed they were masked. She wouldn't have even been able to tell what either one was if she hadn't seen a glowing horn. The unicorn used magic to pick the dagger up before she had a chance to take it. The Pegasus lunged at it, trying to bite onto the hilt. The unicorn turned the dagger at the last minute though and used it as if the situation had all been planned. Before she knew what was happening, the right side of her face burned and stung as if it was on fire. For a second, she thought it might've been, but through the reflection of the other blades, she saw it was blood that covered her face, not fire. It seemed the blade was indeed infused was magic. The blade was hot as if it'd just been in the fire. The unicorn soon found this out when it stupidly touched the blade to try and wipe the blood off it. The shock of the heat caused the pony to drop the dagger. Before it could hit the floor, Cavalier flew over and caught it in her teeth. The unicorn was still trying to cool down it's hoof when Cavelier flew away. She heard the other shadow trying to help it's friend as she flew back home.

When her father and her friends asked about the scar on her face, she lied and claimed that she tried to throw a knife into the air and catch it, but she missed. They laughed, but apparently, it was believable enough for them to buy it. They left her alone after that. If a customer or someone else asked about it, she'd stick to the story, but luckily, not many people asked about it.

She graduated from school and now helps her father out in the shop when she’s not with her friends in Cloudsdale or stealing for the shop. Every once in a while, she gets a letter from her mother. At first, she loved getting them, but now she just ignored them. She told her mother that her father was on a good track now and that she should come live with them in Ponyville. Her mother wrote back, saying she’s met someone else and now has a new filly to take care of. Cavalier’s happy with her life, content without a mother. They made a relatively honest living and didn’t have many money problems anymore. What more could a pony ask for?

Personality: Despite her mistakes & flaws, Scar tends to be very cocky in regards to her stealing. Her stubborn nature makes it hard for her to give up on anything, whether she’s doing everyday-work or procuring goods for the shop. Her pride in her theft makes it hard for her to keep from bragging about it to her parents or friends. Nevertheless, she keeps her mouth shut about it and waits for her victim’s reaction instead. Cavalier can be very hot-tempered and sometimes reacts without thinking, especially if you insult someone she’s close to. Although she’s been trying to work on her anger issues, she can’t help but lose it once in a while. On the off chance that she can’t react in her anger, she’ll usually just go steal small-scale items to cool down. Around her friends, she tries to be on her best behavior, often resulting in her over-protective and distant nature shining through when around new people. She’s nice and relatively easy-going around her friends, sometimes even preferring spending time with friends instead of stealing.
