Long ago in a far off mind there appeared a girl of the age of sixteen. Not knowing where she was she began to wander around this strange new place, hoping that nothing bad would end up happening to her. Little did she knew that things would only get worse as she traveled deeper and deeper into the darkness of the night. The trees were barren and decayed, the ground cold and left bare of any sign of life. Though the girl was frightened she continued exploring, because like Alice when she was in Wonderland she couldn’t help her curiosity. There didn’t seem to be anyone in existence where she was, and that only made her pick up her pace a tad as she looked for some sort of life. That’s when she stumbled upon the house, the house that would without her knowing play a big part in her little adventure. As she looked at the house she was struck by awe at how old and marvelous the house looked. It was an old Victorian styled house, one with a wrap around porch and darkened glass windows. Since it was dark out she couldn’t tell all of the details of this seemingly splendid house, but what she did know was that she wanted to go inside.
As if by magic, the door slowly began to creak open as if giving her a silent invitation to enter. The girl wanted to ask if there was someone there, but she seemed to have lost her voice. With slight hesitation she began to walk towards the door, the sound of soft music pouring from within. When she walked into what seemed to be a simple parlor she heard the door close behind her, making her jump slightly as she searched for someone who could tell her where she was. Still without a voice it seemed, the girl began to wander towards where she heard the music coming from. Little did she know that there was a figure hiding in the shadows, watching her with darkened hellish eyes. The young girl wrapped her arms around herself as she walked into what seemed to be a sitting room, and turned in circles in search of the music that she could not see. She closed her eyes in hopes of locating where this hidden musical splendor was coming from, only to find herself grabbed roughly from behind. Kicking and thrashing about the girl eagerly tried to escape whomever had their hands on her, but sadly she was no match for the strength of the person holding her now. Without being able to make a sound, the girl closed her eyes and trembled as the person tied a thick cloth across her eyes to hide her vision. Though she still attempted to struggle, she also tried to figure out her own sense of direction as well as her surroundings as they walked through the house. By now she could tell it was a man who had her, one who smelt of chemicals as well as a sort of burnt smell. Before long they were going down what seemed to be an endless flight of steps. When they reached the bottom she felt herself shudder due to the fact that the temperature had dropped at least twenty degrees. It was freezing, and though she was afraid she wished she were at least some place warm and comfortable. Oh why did she have to pick this stupid house to wander in to?
The girl decided she would try one final attempt at escaping, though she knew it would only do her so much good considering she had no idea where she was. The man growled, and tossed her into a room before slamming the door closed leaving her in the pitch black darkness. As her eyes adjusted to the darkness she froze at the sudden sound of heavy breathing and moaning. A dim light bulb began to flicker, and what she saw made her want to scream bloody murder. But once again she was without a voice, this causing her to panic as she scrambled to her feet. All around her were forms, creatures with deformed faces and unsightly markings. Their skin ranged from a pale grayish color to a deadly looking blue that made it seem as if they were choking. She watched as they began coming in her direction, and the girl nearly fainted from how horrid this sight was. The forms moved like zombies, their extra limbs moving in ungodly ways as the noises they created made her want to vomit. She pressed herself against the wall, her heart pounding in her chest as the figures came closer and closer to her looking as if they were going to eat her flesh or something. Luckily for her the door swung open quickly, light pouring inside making the figured hiss in displeasure as she was pulled from the chamber. This time it was a different man, a man in a white lab coat with eyes that seemed to burn into ones very soul. Frozen in fear, she was carried off towards a brightly lit room where there were many different things. This room must’ve been where this man did his experiments she thought, considering tools of all sorts lined the tables and walls to the point where she shivered from displeasure. As he placed her on the examination table her sense once again started kicking in, making the girl look around in hopes of finding an escape. Luck was on her side, for the man had forgotten to shut the door to the examination room! While he was busy sharpening his tools of torture, the girl bolted from the table and began running through the labyrinth of hallways. It wasn’t long before she heard footsteps and shouting as they all began running after her in attempts to seize her once more. The only thoughts in her mind were run, survive, leave this place and never return. With each twist and turn she felt that they were coming closer to catching her, and she was getting even more frightened as she ran faster and faster. She ran blindly through the dark trying to keep as quiet as she could though she was scared out of her mind.
Just when she thought she would be caught she found steps, and though she didn’t know where they led she scrambled up them and burst through the door. To her relief she was back in the creepy old house that she had first entered, and because she didn’t want to give them any time to catch up she ran towards the door and yanked it open. Outside a storm was brewing, winds whipping all around her and dark clouds rolling in. She ran down the empty streets, praying to god that they wouldn’t still be coming after her. She couldn’t see anyone, but she heard footsteps all around her which only made her run faster. She felt her chest tightening as she gasped for breath, and ran off a curb to cross the street. She tripped, falling face first into the cold muddy street and hitting her head on hard. Pain tore through her system as blood trickled down her forehead, and as she tried to lift herself from the ground she was surrounded. Between the doctor, his helper, and his creations there was a circle around her. She was trapped, and finally a scream tore from her lips. The first and last sound she would ever make now that she was trapped. Only when she opened her eyes she was lying in bed, a cold sweat covering her skin and the sun shining through the window. She was perfectly alright, it had all just been a dream. Or had it…?
