 Go to the search engine of your choice, search ‘blog’; you’ll get a Wikipedia page defining it, and several sites that offer you a chance to create your own. Why?
Everyone has something to say. What they think of the latest reality star, traffic laws, cable TV, haters, that last movie, religion, bullying, and the such. Stupid or not, we have opinions, and wouldn’t mind if people would opiniate on them. That’s Exactly why sites that let you blog are loaded with money, with every click you give them they get cash.
Think of all the blogs out there; all the people spending their precious time writing for a huge audience. Now think of the people who write, who’s blogs are subscribed to and actually read.
Very few, but why? Is their writing bad? Are they boring? No, not really.
Bloggers like to write their blogs, and have them read, but they aren’t likely to read another’s. Anyone loves comments and linking, but they probably don’t link anyone else’s. ’If I don’t get attention why should they?‘ kind of mentality.
No, this doesn’t just apply to blogging. Everything really. Youtube, Singers with their ‘ft. Rapper who already has a name set for himself‘ [Honestly, add Lil' Wayne to a song and it'll do decently.], Fanfiction, and the such. You’ll never make it anywhere on your own; you’ll have to link, promote, sell yourself.
Treat others as you would like to be treated.
Sadly, it applies to everything, so follow it.
We all want our blogs, video, art, formspring, and the such to be viewed, but it will never happen if you just create it and hope for the efame iCarly, Big Time Rush, and Sonny with a Chance is giving kids false hope with.
Do something, authors send their work out to agents; they don’t leave it saved on their harddrive; applicants send out resumes.
If you want attention earn it.
