11/11/2020. Frick o'clock. Stuff on my mind.
I come in from the woods that are Facebook to discover that more hasn't changed than has. In that span, I've gained a job, lost an abusive relationship, gained PTSD, lost an apartment, lost a job, gained a different job, and most likely stumbled headlong into the disability that will ultimately take me out of the work force.

Fun, fun.

While this was going on, however, I also forged some incredible bonds.

(Yes I know. Insert YGO power of friendship gif here.)

In fact, while our sites crunch down around us I might drag them back here with me...because even when all I did was lurk offline here, this place was a constant.

And, to think everything was still here...

A few things have changed, of course. I'm older. I'm nonbinary and go by ze/zir pronouns now. My tastes...hmm, those aren't all that different, actually. sweatdrop I'm pretty much the same Yunie, now with noisier knees and glasses (that, real talk, I've probably needed since high school, but family internalized ableism.)

Second day back at work,
And I've had to come up with different ways to stay conscious during work while still keeping my medication schedule.

So, espresso.

The first thing in the morning, now, I make a point of a relatively fatty breakfast (as related to the rest of my day), followed by a multivitamin. I take that with a glass of OJ. After this, I make myself a glass of espresso.

Well, technically it's cold-brewed coffee. But I've been drinking it straight, three or four ounces at a time; and this particular batch brewed twice as long as it should have (ironically enough, on a day I was so heavily medicated that I didn't wake up to filter it). It's smooth, since it's not heated to brew…but the aroma while waiting for it to brew taunts me when I'm out. The entire apartment smells of coffee then, and *singsongy* I can't have it yet!

This morning's espresso was cut with maybe a half-ounce of cinnamon creamer. It was much smoother this time. And I totally forgot to heat it. But it was so good I might just have a new way of drinking it.

The hiatus is over.
Current Music: Yulara—Future Tribe
Current Mood: Drowsy and sore.

I'm gonna be honest, I forgot my login information for a very long time, and then my soul was sucked out by other things. But since I'm stuck at home with a gimp leg now, I'm going to make sure that I do something that takes my mind off of my problems.

When my PSP is recharging, that happens to be Gaia.

So I'm hereby announcing my official return to Gaia.

I was surprised to find that there are a lot of new features since the last time I was here. For one, I noticed that there was a strange new link in the forums page: Heaven.

It looks like the GD reform mission has finally come to fruition. Transcendence? Yes. Now, if only I actually had something to talk about. The only thing that has happened since the last time I was on is my gimp leg. While at work, it blew out completely. For several days I wasn't even able to walk. When I finally could hobble around, it was to the doctor that they sent me to, and three more doctors in, it sounds like I'm going to need my knee either rebuilt or replaced.

I don't like the sound of that. I'm only 24, dammit. I canNOT have worse knees than my father. That's just wrong. While I wait for my job to own up to causing this injury, I'm sort of stuck at home. I've spent that time learning to cook. I'm not only up to passable, I'm now getting requests! 3nodding

I wrote something for NaNo, and actually made it into the Winner's Circle.

I got new stuff for my apartment, namely this computer and a printer.

…So, maybe a lot has happened. I guess, anyway.

See you later!

Dear Gaia Guild Tag Suggestor:
I advise you to refrain from suggesting Twilight in my guild search box. I do not like this series. I have tried to read it a few times, but when I attempted to read it, I had to run in search of a cleric who was talented enough to resolidify brain matter. The prose is vapid and poorly written. The characters are flat and not engaging. Mary Sue herself would not be able to make sense of the logic utilized in this series.

If you are going to suggest things to your users, try to make them relevant to the user's interests. Do not assume automatically that everyone is into the 'sparkly vampire' fandom. Not everyone likes a sparkly vampire.

You missed the rave, Edward. Go home.

Pokemans with the poke and the man...
So, I got the new Pokemon game as a birthday present. At the moment my soul is being sucked out in the directions of Dissidia and Pokemon. There are days where I am playing them almost simultaneously.

Like today.

So yeah.

*bounces to multigame*

Lol, I don't know how I got this result with my answers!
Took a Dissidia quiz to ID my leaning character.
I got Mateus (Emperor).
I don't know how.

The main thrust of my answers? "I wanna fight, just bring it! Whee!"

Quiz located on Theotaku.com. My photobucket is having a fit though so it will be a while before I post the pic.

Work—or lack of; (under) Tech Level.
So, when I got to work today, as it turned out, it was too slow for more than four people to work. And three of those four were from the Illinois Center for Autism, so it was required that they work. As a result, for the fourth time in a row I have been sent home.

In the summer months I would not mind that too much, as scheduling snafus have resulted in almost everyone having one shot at working like nine days without a day off. But in the winter season, I need all the work I can get. When summer rolls around it will give me the chance to get ahead on my rent. Right now I do not have that luxury. So, as of today, I have busted out the ol' network to see what I can do for a little cabbage on the side. I've actually even seriously considered getting a stack of pita bread and bulk cheese and cooking little pizzas for whoever wants to buy one in the building.

I'm not a bad cook. Almost a year of living on my own—as opposed to cooking for myself while still living in my dad's place—has given me the freedom to test different things that normally I would not have. I've learned new recipes and new ways of cooking old favorites. Let me tell you, it's a hustle that I'm seriously tempted to run.

As it turned out, I got the iPod synced. But there were a few glitches.

Actually, not so much glitches as just 'things gotten obviously wrong.' A few of my albums don't have matching artwork (thanks to having different releases or having been originally encoded with Windows Media Player). I didn't think that this would be a problem, until this morning, when an entire chunk of one of my favorite albums was skipped, landing straight into the end. Confused, I noticed that the art was wrong.
I flipped the iPod around to activate the Cover Flow function, and saw that NONE of the tracks in the album had the right artwork. I fixed it manually, since I do not have an iTunes account.

And, to make things even more annoying, the art won't autofix unless I GET one. So until I do, I've got some work on my hands.

Oh well. I shouldn't complain so much seeing as I got this for free.

Current Music: None. The Dr. Oz Show is on, though.
Current Mood: Bored.

Back and confused.
I am quite confused right now.

I got an iPod from a friend of mine for free (lucky me!). We switched because my library (fricken huge) and his (much more manageable) are mismatched to our device sizes. So I got to replace a dying unit until I can get my mitts on my preferred model. Whoot for me!

Except that I have no idea how to operate this thing. Right now, as I listen to the new Sade album, I'm trying with trial and error to figure out how to get this thing to work. I don't have a clue what I'm doing. I had to get a bit of an assist on how to work it. After about fifteen minutes of searching largely not helpful help menus, I decided I'd just give it a shot.

And lo and behold, I finally got it to sync. Now, my media can keep up with my profile when I am on the go. Hopefully I don't brick it somehow.

Hiatus again.
As it turns out, my money is tight.

How tight?

Well, the money after the things I can't get away without has been factored into this and last check's haul, I have 17 bucks.

And since I can't pay for a half-week, that's right out.

Two weeks, minimum. Hopefully that's all.

See you all then.

Current music: Dead Can Dance - I Can See Now
Current mood: down.
