I posted this as a note on Facebook a few days ago. I would appreciate if this were read and my request at the bottom was fufilled.

Now I'll admit, I have had very pessimistic moments in my life. I'd like to think that now, my optimistic side is finally starting to show. I have met a lot of great people, and I feel a lot more comfortable in the world around me.
However, I have recently made a very pessimistic observation: I really do believe that most of humanity is selfish. I'm not going to go and assume that we are born selfish: I think it is today's world that makes us so selfish. As soon as we are old enough to enter into school we learn to fend for ourself, take what we can get, become the best that we can be.
We learn these things by treading on other people, by limiting our field of vision to only ourselves. We dare not involve ourselves in the affair of others, why would we? They have nothing to do with us, we shouldn't even care.
Now using a personal example, people don't even bother to learn the ******** names of people in their own class. I know for a fact that I won't be talking to everyone in the class, but I still make an effort to at least know what their names are. I'm not going to name which class I experienced this in, but I remember it was a presentation we had to do. We needed to know the name of the person presenting. I wrote his name down right away, and waited for him to start. During the downtime I heard many people asking others what his name is. Worse yet, people were ******** LAUGHING because they didn't know it.
That just made me lose a little faith in humanity. I was already quite used to people not knowing my name even though I knew their name. I just assumed it was because I was quiet,but then I realized, I'm rather active in my classes. So why couldn't people learn my name?
I didn't mean for that to sound arrogant, it probably did. It's just, I wish everyone knew everyone in their class' name.
I have been told constantly that I am too nice. I even mentioned it in my previous note. But I think I would rather be too nice than be selfish to any degree.
Of course, I don't mean to say that every single one of you out there, friends and enemies alike, are selfish. I've just been noticing it a lot lately.
I urge any of you who read this to prove me wrong. This is not a pompous challenge stating my power with words (I don't have much of that), I want people to tell me I'm wrong with reasoning. I would rather not hold onto this point of view for much longer.
