I will never submit art to the art arena.
The art arena seems to be the place outside of chatterbox and general discussion where the idiots gather. Every picture receives at least 10 stupid, not very thought out comments, OR at least three copy and pasted comments that say "this art iz awesom" or something of the like.
When a picture IS just really, really bad (drawn in paint in a matter of seconds), it tends to get more "this art iz awesom! I give 10" comments than any other.
When something original and innovative shows up in the arena, it receives mostly criticism ("theres not enough shading so this pic suks" or "u could make it better" wink .
And I saw several uses of the word "ludicrous". I don't know if this is some new internet fad, or what. I first saw it on a really bad drawing, made in MS Paint --"this pic is ludicrous". I next saw it on a pretty well done picture, with lots of attention to detail and an obvious effort put forth, "this pic is ludicrous". I kid you not -- it was the same comment, but not left by the same person. I don't get it. Apparently someone doesn't know the definition of ludicrous -- there was certainly nothing funny about the second picture.
