Abilities:
Poisons.
Put people to sleep using non lethal doses.
Cocoons that are poisonous.
Immunity to poison.
Flight.
Give people nightmares.
Moth swarms with wings of the same color as their master.
Strengths:
Immunity to poison.
Demonic abilities.
Heightened senses.
Weaknesses:
Wings.
Feelers -because they are so sensitive, and without them moths cannot tell directions and are essentially without sense of smell and lose a great deal of their other senses.
Cold. It can kill them.
Fire. Distracts and disorientates.
Tribal society:
King/queen: Strongest moth in demonic strength/poison/and aura in clan with most followers.
Advisor: Gayarou. Directly under the king, is his most trusted ally not necessarily second strongest.
Court: Other loyal followers that help keep the clan under his rule.
Strong moths: The entire royalty as well as any deemed strong during the rough training process endured as children.
Weak moths: Essentially slaves. They are the weakest in the clan, this is determined through the horrid training process. Most weak ones die. The others who survive are slaves. They raise the children and train them for the first bit of training which decides if they are strong or not. If they move on from that training then they are trained by strong moths. These ones also bring in humans to the clan for food.
Children: They train from the moment they can walk until adulthood which today would be late teens. If they don't die from any part of it than they live to adulthood. They aren't raised by parents but rather nannied by the weak females.
Training:
Starts with general poison and training in making moth children immune. Many die right off the bat. Takes a few years to many for most of their poisons to come in.
Cocoon making. Once poisons are mastered that is next. A child must live in the cocoon for about a week to grow their wings more. If not ready and immune, they die. The final step of living in it comes after a while.
Flight. Self explanatory.
Combat. This is done throughout the entire process. This includes hand to hand, weapons, and ability usage. This never stops.
Building up immunity to cold. This is the step that kills off most moths. Since their bodies are weak to even the slightest cold, this process of leaving children out during a simple rain for a few minutes slows their vital systems down a lot. It's mostly used to separate the strong from the weak.
Hunting. Soon after flight this training step begins. Often they hunt with the weaker members of the tribe on a nearby human town.
Beatings. They believe the punishment of beating is suitable for anything they deem wrongful that children do. Whips are used.
Food: Humans. They suck the lifeforce from them rather than consume the meat. This also builds up their demonic strength.
Title: -maru. This is given to male moths who have gained respect of the society, very rarely is it ever given to females. The only reason Lieko's name was changed to Liekomaru is because she moved from being a weak moth to a strong one which is unheard of. This earned her the title.
Mating: Mating is done for power not love and is generally temporary. It's rare that a moth pair will stay together because love isn't involved and is actually not considered real in moth societies. They find the most powerful mate that will go for them to create powerful offspring for the clan. Moths deemed weak do not get this privilege for fear they will create weak moths. They cannot have multiple mates and cannot leave a mate while the female is with child, since they are so vulnerable at that point. They do not mate with humans because humans are weak, same with hanyous. If this happens the hanyou offspring is killed at birth.
Way to insult a moth: Call them a butterfly. Their society views butterflies, all butterflies, as silly and frivolous.
