Wow, I didn't realise I had comments...
I so rarely look at this Journal thingy of mine and I suddenly realise that comments have been posted and... Yay! Though they'll probably never check back to see that I have noticed their comments but... Yay!

Okay, a few things... That was one *points up* this is another *points down*
I've actually gotten a few games off that "I Want" list... Medal of Honor: Frontline. Ninja Gaiden. Panzer Dragoon Orta. TimeSplitters 2. VooDoo Vince.
Of course, at the time of the previous entry that was the whole of the list but since then, a few games were taken off and a few games were added so... I think I'm ahead. smile

Oh, and that comment I made at the end of my last entry...
Quote:
Funnily enough... The game I'm most likely to be getting first is a game that might not even be available anywhere I go... Panzer Dragoon Orta.
... Is so not true. Pretty much everywhere I'm looking now it's on the shelf. I hate that.

I still haven't gotten any of the 6 games tacked on at the end, but I have seen La Pucelle, Disgaea and Phantom Brave on the shelves... for an AU$99.95 each. So I passed.
I still haven't seen Katamari Damacy.

Current "I want it!" List...
...with the thanks to the helpful people in the Gaming Discussion.

Beyond Good And Evil
Mario Party 4
Metroid Prime
Pikmin
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
Skies of Arcadia: Legends
Soul Calibur 2
Armored Core
Jak and Daxter
Medal of Honor: Frontline
Onimusha 3
Ratchet and Clank: Locked and Loaded
Crimson Skies
Metal Arms
Ninja Gaiden
Panzer Dragoon Orta
TimeSplitters 2
VooDoo Vince
GunGrave: OverDose
Phantom Brave
Disgaea: Hour of Darkness
La Pucelle Tactics
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
Katamari Damacy

There's at least three in that list that I'm not likely to be getting anytime soon because they're in NTSC format and I have consoles that can only use PAL...
I've looked them all up on eBay and wow at the prices... Cheaper than in stores but even so, not cheap enough for me to buy any of them off eBay...
Time to search the stores, from top shelf to bottom shelf and not excluding the PreOwned games...
Funnily enough... The game I'm most likely to be getting first is a game that might not even be available anywhere I go... Panzer Dragoon Orta.

Graphics: The graphics are brilliant to look at. Just at the beginning, to stand before the gangplank and gaze over at the SiltStrider with the water reflecting beautifully the play of shadow and light... And there are numerous occurances of just wanting to just stop and gaze around and think, "wow."
Play Control: The controls could have been better. It does get a tad repetitive in the middle of a fight, esp if you have the option set as "always best attack".
Game Design: To me, game design is the game world as a whole. And I think the game world as a whole is brilliantly done. Not only is the world stunning to look at, but there's a real history here. The game designers have sat down and written out books, histories, and even the NPCs talk like they know this.
Satisfaction: After playing this game and taking the time to sit back and stretch aching muscles, you'll realise that 5 hours have passed. If you can come to that realisation from ONE game, I'm quite sure you're satisfied with the game. The freedom you are offered in this game is marvellous and it's that freedom that brings you into the game so completely.
Sound: The music fits, the atmosphere sounds fit, the voices sometimes don't match lip movement but that's a minor detail. The only thing that'll have you scratching your head is the occassional "moo" or "baa" that you'll swear that you hear around the Ashlands... There are no cows or sheep in Vvardenfell.
Comments: To me, this is a brilliantly done game that'll capture any avid RPG fan so completely that you'll forget about those other games you've been playing. Give it a go.

Time to add something different I think...
I shalt post occassional snippets of RP... And the occassional game review.
Maybe a story, but isn't that what RP is...

Anyway... something different since that first post is looking weird and ordinary.
